    Exactly, although it appears the snow is still on the PM screen (when sending & viewing a PM).[face_frustrated]

    Glad it's gone. I find everything that moves on the screen a distraction from reading, including moving emoticons, although I can live with those if they're funny enough. Didn't notice a slowdown with my system, though.

    I believe the snowflakes are javascript.
    Are there other things that need javascript on the board, or can they restrict javascript?

    If you restricted javascript quite a few things would stop working. The board scripts that handle the banners, and the forum links and mod names in the headers are javascript, for example. (Those are ones that I update).
