Oh! They are lovely Nicole!
* beams and hops off to "The Festival of Light", because it is the last night it will take place
Those are very beautiful!
Brilliant work as always!
I might have thought about you a bit, yes!
Oh, I see I didn't comment on hete, only IRL! They look great, and I'm very happy with the little owl above my desk, makes distance between us a little less
Husband mine, you are always in my heart!
(Mav Edit: Merged from fanfic.)
I have so many SW paintings and wrote so little the past months, that I want to try to reflect on some of my art. Just to keep me writing.
Reflection 1: "Sweet dreams are made of these"
Star Wars, the OT. Films that wove into my childhood, my friendships. That still enrich my fantasy, my creativity. The balance between good and evil well explained. A goal to live for, especially as a teacher
Beautiful, Nicole. I can tell from the way you write & review that you are a sensitive, thoughtful person. The younglings you teach are blessed. I too like these themes in SW. The profics have seemed to wander far afield from the triumphant good though. Feels more like a Greek, rampant tragedy Fanfiction seems to be holding true to the original mission statement LOL
This is true,
@Nyota's Heart. This is why I love fanfic that much. It keeps up the original spirit. Most of my younglings are into Clone Wars and know nothing about the original characters of Episode IV, V & VI. One recently asked me: "Lando who?" But he was able to tell me the names of a dozen of Clone troupers & their helmet colour.
I will always love the OT and the spin off novels about the New Republic more than anything else in Star Wars. The books after the New Jedi Order just go too far into ruining the spirit of Star Wars when you have characters like Jacen Solo going bad, and the Prequel/Clone Wars era stuff (though I have nothing against it) seems to cloud people's judgement on the Jedi and the Rebellion, things which I don't like. Governments, even rightful ones can be rife with corruption and need to be told that they are wrong in what they are doing. I find it worrying that some fans look upon the Empire as being the "good guys."
I share your sentiment about the PT & CW. It does cloud people´s minds, because the jedi are not what they used to be. And the Jacen thing is indeed heavy stuff.
I love your paintings and the sweet words
Reflection 2: "Tears for fears"
The old man cries. His skin has not seen day light in a while. It is white, almost greyish. His skull is hairless. Old scars speak of horrors of his past. But his gaze is filled with love. Love for his son. Luke Skywalker. A true Jedi Knight.
Ohhhh! Wonderful. A grand RoTJ moment.
Felt nice doing that, especially after throwing so much stuff out today or giving it away as presents. And that special RotJ moment still means a lot to me.
I did two non-SW paintings, but I did not make any copies of them and gave them to friends straight away. One was the goddess Athena & the other one the goddess Kali.
Yet, I had the idea writing something about my old fanart. Here is the link: http://boards.theforce.net/threads/reflect-on-it-i-will.50018371/
Reflection 3: "I just died in your arms tonight"
You leave me breathless, my Ani. Your touch, your gaze, your kiss. I feel one day you will break my heart. You can be so intense.
Ooh, SQUEE! Nicole! Totally IC & sweet
My brother´s long-term girl-friend wanted to have this on Christmas Day, but I gave it to my husband ages ago.
I hope it will look as good in the new office room of his.
Lovely reflections and your paintings sure will look good whereever they are. More beautiful ones are now in my house
I love the words to go with the paintings! Very nicely done
Well, I had no new ideas for a long time, but I upload my old stuff again. For example here!
But it is time for new stuff anyway. The past is the past.
So I need to struggle with new ideas.
My blockade seems to be over... for now anyway. But my work now is more work related. Must be the 2 year olds up to 6 year olds that I hang out with 7 hours per day.
