Im back from Las Vegas, and no I didnt win any money; I wouldnt be back if I did. I didnt sleep much, seems that the people of Las Vegas dont need sleep. The people of Orlando do, so now Im gonna be playing catch up all week.

I know this might be upseting to a few, but I did do the Star Trex Experience. Which now is called The Borg Invasion, and The Klingon Assualt. Yep its now two rides, and only 30$. It was awesome, felt like I was in the movie.

Got a few pics, but something seems to be wrong with our digital camera. The pictures are all coming out blurry. Might need to read up on the manual and see if theres something Im doing wrong. Might just go buy a new camera and say the heck with it.

The Casinos were fun, although I was always getting lost and couldnt tell what time of day it was. Theres no windows in these places and very few exit doors. Seems like there was about 100 entrance doors, but they magically dissapeared once I entered them. Although I did figure out the magic words to make them reappear "Im out of money" and bam there they were!

Well Im off to bed. Talk to you all later.

    Dale

Quick item: I don't know for sure, but your picture problems *might* be due to the fact your camera has a night setting of sorts. My Sony has one, and it is made to take pictures at night when light is behind the person, or some sort. You have to hold the camera exceptionally steady OR put it on a stand. If you move it even a little, it does turn a little blurry. This option is great if you have a lighted building or something in back and a person up close, they both stay in focus, just looks great.

Like you discovered, though, it can kill you if you don't know the camera is set to that option. Check into that. If that does not work, maybe it IS broken... just get a new one.

HA! Dale, love your description of Vegas doors! Evil contraptions that have a life of their own. Glad you're back in town and it sounds like you had a good birthday. I hope you catch up on your sleep and see you around the boards!

    Melanie

ps. Happy 21st Birthday (again!) ;)

Yeah, Dale, if your camera was set for night photography then the aperture would be open longer to let more light in. The consequence of this is that if the camera moves even a little, everything will blur.

    A post about cameras...how lovely.

I love taking pictures. I never take pictures though.

    Oh well.

    Cameras are cool.

    So is Data.

    And Jean Pierre.

    Klingons are cool too.

AND the "BOY IS BACK IN TOWN" Dale!

Let's just be honest, everyone. Las Vegas offers many wonderful and fun things: gambling, legal prostitution, bright lights, dancing girls, singers, and the Borg Invasion; however, there is one main thing, one main reason, to go there. And, yes, that is none other than Tom Jones!

    Seriously.

P.S. Let's go to school for a moment. I will call upon the resident speaker of Spanish to answer this (that would be Stefanie), I do believe "Las Vegas" is Spanish, right? What does it translate to? Anything? Maybe someone's name from long ago? Well, if no one else cares, I sure do.

It is not a current word used in the Spanish language. Yet, it does come from castellano (I suppose) which is like the Old-English equivalent of English. It means fertile valley...wonder what happened???

Maybe it's meant like an oasis.

I always assumed it was named after the album by Crystal Method or the TV show starring Robert Urich.
