this programme, after Havoc on tuesday nights is one of the funniest things i have ever seen, locally made anyway........sure its crude, obscene, and violent, but hey, it has taken nz tv humour to new, lower levels and that makes me happy........you gotta love the police brutality segments, althought tonight's episode was a little dodgy, if you saw it you will know what I mean, if not, then lets just say that it involved a golf club.......

fisrt i think i was a litle too tired to really "understand" that show - although you cant really understand crap like that - you just accept it.

i found parts funny. those guys have finially made their own show eh?! they use to be on SPACE (the music show) for a short 5min segment.

after watching "Back of the Y" last night i felt they are just trying to copy what Havoc and Newsboy use to be like.

Totally new show - doing things that usually would not be allowed on TV etc. Havoc did this kind of thing first.

i mean - theres funny and then theres CRAP.

"**** Race 2001" - internet vs magazine from the garage station. ?[face_plain]

the whole Gorilla thing was amuzing but i believe the shorts i saw of it from the previous programme was funnier (poking it with a stick etc).

"Im Building a rocket car" Spaners Watson

Man last week where the cops shot the kid with the brightly cloured water pistol was so funny putting the kid in a sack and tosing him over a bridge classic.

I usually find that kind of humor quite funny, but BotY is just way over the top, and I don't like it.

personally i like it, it is refreshing to see that censorship hasn't reared its ugly head around here just yet, when it does so often around mainstream tv

"i'm gunna build a rocket car!"

at my univeristy, we have a short film festival, the Mothras, anyway, last night was a "best of" finale to the weeklong competition, and 2 of the films were from Back of the Y, and i was pleasantly suprised to see they were all Dunedin originals, nice to see that these guys are not pure jaffas ;)

ok i admit i laughed at this (which is a good thing) tonight.

i only watched the first 10mins or so but what i found funny was the "stunt" guy.

5 stunts in 5 weeks and !#$^& up every stunt so far. - i didnt actaully see him drive 10m (drunk) - what happened?

i just laughed my ass of at him trying to jump the "Back of the Y" studio on his bike - smashed right into the side (pure stupidy yet funny)

it was brilliant, they had a ramp concealed behind some rubbish, so when he hit the rubbish at speed it would flip the car, of course, he was drunk too;)

I quite like the "Bottlestore Galactica" bits. Funny cosumes, great budget effects.

But most of you kids are probably too young to remember Battlestar Galactica. It was my generation's equivalent to Star Trek or Stargate I guess - growing up in the 70s.

well it was on until recently on channel 4, i pretty much caught the entire series, well maybe not the last few episodes, they were kinda crappy, super strength kids who sowed seeds in freshly ploughed paddocks, i mean wtf is that all about?

good tv never fades away, it reruns, it will be interesting to see how this 1990s generation of scifi hold up in the next 20 years.........at least effectswise it shouldnt be too bad, at long last we have reached a point where animation/cgi etc has ensured that artistic vision is matched, which should hold up well, unless there is some big technical advance, eg esp computers ;)

Hmmm. Don't recall the super-kids. But then the final series was absolute crap (when they found Earth), all the original cast had left or died by that point.

Thank God for Buck Rogers, and Wilma Deering's super silver space suit.

    From NZ.Com

BOGAN (n). See also _Westie_, _Petrolhead_, _Hoon_.

Appearance. Typically clad in black rib jersey (Hallensteins, $49.95),
black jeans, and a shredded black heavy-metal t-shirt. Clothing with beer
logos is an acceptable alternative to above - Waikato is favourite. Black
oilstains on skin optional. A curious feature is the haircut, which
although short(ish) at the front and sides is long and straggly at the
back (mullet). The cover thus provided enables one to distinguish the bogan from
    the _Redneck_.

Habitat. The beach in summer, but only those with free road access. Mt
Maunganui provides a typical bogan haunt. Despite the heat, bogans NEVER
expose their torsos, even when swimming. Science has yet to explain why
they refuse to shed their protective coating of black fabric. Bogans may
be found at all times on back roads, at rugby matches, and in public bars.
If you can't see a bogan straight away, they may be shy - try watching the
    older Holden Kingswoods for activity.

Feeding. Copious quantities of _BEER_ provide all the nourishment a Bogan
    requires.

Reproduction. Bogans appear to be exclusively male. Females are activley
repelled by cries of "getchagearsoff" or "showusyagrowler" if they dare
venture too close. Like _Geeks_, _Rugbyheads_ and _Best friends of popular
girls_, the Bogan is the non-viable offspring of apparently fertile
    humans.

Seldom seen in numbers fewer than three.
