Hey, I was just wondering if anyone else was planning on watching Back to the Future part II next week.

On 21st October, it will be the exact day that Doc and Marty traveled to the future.

It will be the only chance, ever, to watch the film on the day it's actually set.

I myself am looking forward to drinking a Pepsi Perfect, while sitting down to watch Jaws 19 at the local Holomax theatre.

Then I might take a hover-ride around the town, before settling in for a hydrated pizza while watching 14 channels on my TV at once.

Send me a Fax if you're planning on doing the same!

Personally, as a Star Trek fan, I'm waiting for the day the Bell Riots take place.

I don't have the DVDs, and they're not streaming on Netflix (that I'm aware of). Does anyone know if any TV stations are going to be airing the trilogy next week?

There is one that plays it every single week. You know it will be on all day.

Telltale has a Back to the Future game coming out in celebration of the date, I believe.

It's a Special Edition re-release of their years-old game, with Tom Wilson now voicing Biff, some enhanced graphics and on a new platform or two.

What I'm looking forward to is the death of that fake "TODAY IS THE DAY MARTY McFLY ARRIVED IN THE FUTURE" meme.

My family is watching the first film then going to a screening of Part II at our Alamo Drafthouse at 6:29 on the 21st. Then the third film after that.

So excited. We all know all the films by heart because we used to watch the laser discs every summer of my childhood and youth.

Edit: the Telltale Game is amazing. Wish I'd played it with Tom Wilson's voice in. The story is as good a BTTF IV as you'll ever get.

Just watched Back to the Future 1 today.

It struck me watching, that the film was made as a love letter to the 50's. Now we're the same distance of time away from the original film, as the original film was from 1955. It's a rather humbling thought about the passage of time.

    Great film.

    Tomorrow's the day though...

    STUFF BACK TO THE FUTURE.

On this day in 1805, the Royal Navy vanquished a larger force of combined Spanish (lol) and French ships to win the Battle of Trafalgar. The cost was high; Viscount Horatio Nelson perished from a cowardly French sniper shot.

GrandAdmiralJello, honestly, look at the priorities of people today. Venerating history? Nope, just a sequel.

Isn't this also the day Cletus McGillicutty decided to use vegemite as a bait and managed to finally catch the dingo that had been waking him up every morning with his howls? Or, as you Australians call it, "the Great War"?

The Bigger Fish and I are going to watch BTTF 2 and eat junk food in a 'pseudo party' sort of way tomorrow. Even though it is the 21st here today we are waiting until it is the 21st in California. :)

    Spoilered for size.

Re:BttF cool about the remake. I never did play the original Telltale game. This is as good a chance as any.

Not sure if I really plan to do anything tomorrow for BttF day though. I already saw the film again recently...

I'm going to see Doug Benson do a Movie Interruption (like a live version of MST3k) of BttF2 tomorrow night in San Francisco. Should be awesome!

    Cletus?

You need to learn Strayan. It would be a name, truncated into diminutive form and with an -o at the end. For example: Damien "Damo" McGillicutty (because it would have been some form of cheap labour like a Scot or Irishman) or David "Dave-o" etc.

And a year later, my great-great-great-great-great grandfather was killed in service of the French by the Royal Navy on the IJ lake that you and I crossed together, ES. Always remember that.

The tragedy here is not that the RN killed him, but that he had to serve France.
