While pancakes or waffles are always the star of the breakfast plate, every star needs a good sidekick.

So which one gets the best supporting breakfast item award in your house, bacon or sausage?

For me, nothing beats a nice rack of bacon next to my waffle.

Both preferrably but if I was forced to choose, bacon would edge out sausage.

I'll go with sausage, as you can get some very nice vegetarian sausages. :)

It depends on the sausage. Denny's sausage is awful, but Bob Evans is delicious!
    Bacon is always good!

Whenever the question is "bacon or _____?", the answer is ALWAYS bacon.

This is a strange concept to me, because pancakes and waffles are too revered in the UK to be mere denizens of the breakfast plate - reserved for them is the high destiny of dessert.

But bacon > sausage in very nearly all cases, and bacon is one of the few foods that would not sully the holy waffle with its unworthiness. So, bacon.

Peameal bacon? You must be Canadian.

It is indeed good, but I prefer sausage.

Sausage is a much more rich flavor and therefore is much better.
