Any villain like Palpatine or Plaguis being the bad guy - terrible, terrible ideas.

 

Although I would hate to have a crazy douchebag for a badguy that is evil for the sake of being evil, I would detest it even more if the big bad turned out to be a fallen knight with a sappy backstory of how he was tricked into being evil and has to be pitied and redeemed and all that. I want a villain that stays awesome AND villainy *cough* Vader *cough.

I don't want to see people or story lines that parallel the time frame of the OT (or before) that we never knew about...

Like Ben having a kid who would have been around during the OT or Darth Vader having this secret following and that flashback scene that is rumored... I believe the back story can begin from the Ewok party.... No need to change anything before that...

Also, stay away from things we've already seen. Like someone turning to the dark side. If Luke or Leah have kids on the dark side, it should not be the crux of the movie, maybe even have already happened prior to the movie time frame...

The worst plot twist would be that anyone except Governor Sio Bibble of Naboo is the mastermind behind everything that's happened. He's clearly been set up as the baddies of the ST.

I'm thinking Greedo is really a human who looks like Harrison Ford and Han Solo was the alien who looked like Greedo. Chewie tried to tell them repeatedly (which is why he's so agitated in the OT) but nobody spoke Wookie except for "Han". Also, the subtitles were apparently lying. What a twist!

He acts exactly like Palpatine, only goes by a different name (and might look different).

 

This. Plagueis is (amazingly) one of the worst things to come out of the PT. A random name that is only used in a tale designed to tempt Anakin to compromise his already shaky beliefs, coming from a proven unreliable narrator. It's not really something you base a new movie trilogy around.
