Who wants to place bets on whether the lightsaber effects thread or this fine 'n dandy one will hit 10K first?

Good to know I'm not the only one that doesn't want to go blogging quite yet.

Of course if you already have one I'll look like an idiot typing this, but hey it's only page two of the new thread so why not? :p

Check CT - they have a huge one in there.

Well, since the effects thread has taken longer to get to 4,800 posts in longer time than the other social thread took to get 10,000, I would say this new thread will get there faster.

Oh hay look lets post like we have never had a social thread before! (First post is immune to this comment).

I've been on the internet too long.

    :p

I played Nintendo 64 for the first time in a long time this evening (not including Harvest Moon, which is only good for when you are really sick).

I pwned. I need more challengers. Let it be known, if I meet any of you in RL. There is an automatic challenge. The only rules being that if you try to hit me or distract me from playing through physical contact, you do it knowing you will die. *Viking Rage* (lol)

This challenge is valid on any Nintendo System.

    *bored*

Isn't there a talking meatball on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, or something of that nature?

It would help if I actually watched TV.

WARNING! The following is an IMO certified, Microsoft-hating post. Reader discretion is advised.

...at the expense of stealing all your resourses...Windows Vista sucks, or will suck. Whatever. Vista is all kinds of suck...

Having said that, I'm interested to see if they ripped off any of the security elements of Mac OS X instead of just Spotlight, Dashboard, and the entire GUI. But I doubt it. All in all, if I had a PC to put it on, I'd so do it. I'm excited for the world to move pass that scar on our computing lives that was Windows XP.

This has been an IMO certified post, brought to you in part by posters like me. Thank you.

    :p

So about a year ago I wrote (or rather finished) a story called Double Blind, in which a drug rehabilitation program turns out to be a front for a race of shadow creatures trying to cross over into our realm. We can't see them and they can't see us, normally, but with the help of certain mind-altering drugs humans can perceive them, and in exchange they can perceive humans.

I just made it up as I was writing it, but it seems my story was not without scientific corrolary.

    Freaky.

At the time of writing it, I had no knowledge of Lovecraft, besides his name being synonymous with classic horror. The comparisons of Double Blind to his stuff made me actively seek him out, and since then he's become my favorite author.

On another note, I'm pretty sure Flamin' Hot Limon Cheetos are dipped in crack. They are so addictive.

Have you read From Beyond, out of curiosity? It's just a short, one of his earlier works if I remember right.

EDIT: Holy crap, the ST just showed up as having no topic and -1 posts. Weeeiiiirrd.
