What color is Csilla's sun? I wonder if it is the same wavelength the eyes cannot see at, as an adaptation to cope with the "ice glare" that is likely horrendous. Any other wavelength would be visible, except for the incredibly bright reflections. Else, it could be a means to deter predators, if there are any on Csilla. The glow could also be some sort of signalling mechanism, able to be seen through harsh conditions like a blizzard.

Humans are competative to a fault. We adapt well, but competition is built in, which can be exploited.

It would be fun to try to find out what causes some of these stereotypes? Remember that planet that developed excellent politicians and snipers?

Coruscant: administrators, due to the early euceminopolis needing to be well organized to survive.

Corellia: independent, exploratory, spacers, due to them revolting against the Rakata, and developing hte hyperdrive. Also 5 habitable planets in a system would definately result in a very early space exploration and travel program.

Naboo: Politicians due to the fact there are two diverse and powerful species on the planet, who do not coexist entirely friendly

Alderaan: Peaceful environmentalists, either settled by a bunch of hippys, or suffered a major disaster early on.

Hutts: greedy crime lords due to large brains and lack of physical dexterity. They needed a way for other species to support them, so wealth and power are necessary. Crime fits both requirements.

Mon Cals: Aquatic species, so three dimensional space is not a stranger. Also, like speculated, likely good coordination of groups, and probably skilled in the areas of construction to deal with pressure and communication over distances, due to natural aquatic conditions. Likely combatative against the Quarren.

Quarren: Aquatic like Mon Cals, so same benefits of three dimensions, pressure adaptations, and communications. Likely more squid-like, so accustomed to deeper depths, more pressure, and more isolation.

Givin: Pretty well described in Krytos Trap. Very harsh conditions.

Chiss: Humans on Ice Station Zero. Need to deal with the cold, extreme lighting and reflection, harsher survival. Less room for error in harsh conditions.

Twi'lek: OK, no clue for them. Harsh planet, live underground, females are physically and culturally sexy, even to other species.

Falleen: Pheremones that attract other species. Either predators, or very low on the food chain, as a defense mechanism. Eventually adopted more humanoid features to be more attractive to dominant species in the galaxy.

Muuns: I wonder if there was a need to trade a lot early on, such as widely scattered or rare resources.

There was a Gammorrean female captaining a salvage ship in Planet of Twilight (my very soul recoils at the mention of that odious grimore) and her four husbands. She seemed to be speaking Basic, but the scene was from Threepio's PoV, so make of that what you will.

That's why the squibs became so good at haggling. They had a lot of resources, but they were scattered.

Anyways, there have been a couple non-banker Muuns. The commander in Jedi trial and Plaguies come to mind.

    Skakoans are technophiles.

    Bothans are great public speakers.

    Calibops can't stop talking.

Then again, we haven't had much of a chance to see many Skakoans, just Techno Union people, so...

I dislike the general rule of depicting male Twi'leks as either Bib Fortunas (slimy sychophants) or Orn Free Taas (corpulant blobs dedicated to ilicit gain...IE Hutts pretending to be Twi'leks).

I'm really liking Legacy if only for the fact that we got Shado Vao out of it. He's cool.

Actually Muun's are bankers for biological reasons too. In "Ultimate Alien Anthology" it mentions that they have the ability to perform many complicated equations in a *snap*, or something like that. Anyways, they can make calculations and stuff very quickly and easily, and so banking has been their best business

It's been mentioned in the X-wing series that Twi'leks make pretty good warriors.

And Narawa Ven is a pretty competent lawyer.

Shado is a different Twi'lek. He's peaceful but not fat, and normal but not scheming...

Of course he's blue, are ALL blue Twi'leks good Twi'leks (except Pol, but he was odd)

Orn Free Taa was blue, and you'd have to do some justifying of Orn's behaviors to convince me that he was "good."

By that logic, Orn and Jabba must be some of the nicest folks in the galaxy. :p

Jabba was nice enough to offer Leia relief from that silly Ubese costume that I can only imagine must have been extremely hot in that desert air.

And after being tortured by the Empire, Jabba just let Han chill at his place. He even told Han to keep his money.

    See, fat=good.

    Makes a lot of sense.

He also took good care of his Rancor. Can't be mad at an animal lover!

Good care??? Jabba forced the rancor to fight against Caridan combat arachnids for the Hutt's amusement. In addition, he always was in the market for a Krayt Dragon to pit against the rancor. He didn't really care which one killed the other...he just wanted to see them fight.

Is that a fact, or Malakai's opinion? Malakai was rather unhealthily attached to that rancor.

Then why didn't he adopt Luke after the little malfunction with the door and rancor?

Blim, Carvius and Admiral Isoto also seemed pretty nice fellers.

And Nute Gunray was a bit pouchy.

In ESB, Han Solo said, "Never tell me the odds!" It wasn't only a good line, it was a great line.

The EU turned it into a stereotype. An obnoxious stereotype. Corellians are always strutting through, delivering some sort of variation on Han's snapped retort to Threepio. Now, whenever a character says anything like, "I'm a Corellian. What use do I have for the odds?" I want to step into the story and clock him.
