Banner Suggestions

Hey crew,

After a discussion with the site staff in charge of the JC banners, we've decided to not have a banner comp but have one professionally designed by the site staff themselves. There are several reasons behind this, the most obvious being:


1) Time: It takes alot longer to hold a banner comp and we'd be lucky to get a final upload by mid-Jan, 2003. The delivery date for the staff banner should be December.

2) Minimal Fuss: We let the banner guys do their job and they come up with a high quality banner that the entire forum can be proud of.


Now, to ensure you guys aren't cut out here (and to ensure the last point comes true! ) I'm going to ask anyone who's interested to post links to EU art that you'd like to see included in the banner. Link us to your favourite EU pics, your favourite characters and comic art, any era, not just literature but games, figures/merchandise.....basically this is wide open. The designers will swing through this thread and check all of your links to pick and choose the best stuff or the things they see themes in.

So let's have it.....the hunt for banner material is on!

Slight tangent: I used to work with Lea Hayward here in Australia at a cable TV channel called Channel V. Cool chick...used to memorise her scripts.

So, you haven't seen the Amphitheatre banner contest have you? 14 Days. Many extremely high quality entries.

2) Minimal Fuss: We let the banner guys do their job and they come up with a high quality banner that the entire forum can be proud of.

There is some debate as to whether the "banner guys" are capable of coming up with a high quality banner that the entire forum can be proud of. Few are proud of the JCC banner. The feedback on THIS current overall JC banner has been good, but not overwhelming.

There are only 2 banner contests allowed per month -- this month hosts the Games and the Amphitheatre one. The next available month for a banner contest would be in 2003, around January - that's what DA alluded to, xie

I'd like to make a few suggestions, to make it more of an EUCish banner.

Maybe have some buildings (From SW sources of course) and have names put on them for various mainstay threads (Ie: Sturm's Outlander Club) or maybe something like that. I think it gives it a more community-based feel.
