Hello, my homeland brothers and sisters.
I'm jedi_master_sal, but please call me Sal. My name is a nickname short for my last name (Salerno)
    I'm Italian-Greek-American

I'll be coming to Italy in May 2006. I'm getting married at Lake Como, in Jedi robes no less with my bride-to-be in a replica of Padme's wedding dress.

I wanted to pass along that I'm in charge of negotiating a discount price for rooms for Celebration III in Indianapolis next year for Fanforce. If anyone from this chapter is interested, please contact your chapter rep (CR) and have them PM me. Unfortunately the time is short to submit numbers for this. I need them no later than July 1.

I will trying to negotiate not only cheaper room rates but a full hotel dedicated to fanforce members only, that will be connected to the convention center by a skywalk (appropriately named don't you think).

By the way, my "Jedi" name if Forza Padrone, which I was told is loosely translated as Force Father. It's the closest thing I could fins to "Jedi Master". Is that the correct translation?

Che la Forza sia con te!
    -Sal

Yes, I've heard Clooney has a home there.
I look forward to visiting Italy. It will be like a homecoming for me.

I have a long Italian lineage and as yet have not been to Italy. I feel it's something I must do once in my life.

Besides Lake Como, we plan on visiting Rome, Salerno (from which my family made there last name when they came to the U.S.-or so I'm told), and Venice.

    -Sal

Hi there! I've been away for some time :( , but i'm happy to see that someone is still writin' here!! :D

@starfish: I live in the north-east of Italy, near Venice

@darththunderbird: You're going to visit wonderfull places!!! But if you can make e trip to Lake Como (Villa Balbianello) and Caserta (Royal Palace) and visit the two italian sets of the new Trilogy. ;)

@jedi_master_sal: Wow, you got a great idea for you're wedding. I'm sure it will be great!!
I think that "Forza Padrone" suits better for "Force Master" (it could be "Padrone della forza", anyway ;) ) . "Padre della Forza" could be a better translation for "Force Father".

Well, not bad at all! :)
My home is 60km far from Venice, but at the moment i go there almost every day to work. In this period is quite difficult to reach my workplace since i have to avoid the mass of tourists! But it's not always so bad ;)

lol, yes I guess thats one good thing about tourists.

I live in Northern New York. In a small city called Watertown, you probably
never heard of it. Its no where near the big New York City. Its actually quite close
    to canada. :)
And we don't get many tourists. lol

I live in a small city too, but i think it's not so bad. Maybe i'm accustomed to the "no car, no traffic" life style of Venice, but when i'm in a big city i feel quite uncofortable.
So what do you do in Watertown?

Small cities are nice to live in, the bigger ones are fun to just visit. :)

What do I do? Well, I'm just a 18 year old kid. I Just graduated from high school a month ago
and will start college this fall. I can't wait. :)

I am Gary, the president of the New Jersey Order. I am coming out to Tuscany in November on business. Is there any one near there? I understand its a big place.

I would love to learn more about Tuscany, and hopefully live there. Any jobs out there?

Hi Gary, nice to meet you.
Let me offer a glass of "Brunello di Montalcino" wine, one of the finest tuscany's products! ;)
If you'll come between 29 october and 1 novermber, don't miss LuccaComics (in the city of Lucca, in tuscany), the biggest italian comicon. You should see 501th Italica Garrison patrol the zone. :D
For the work, i think it depends of which kind of work you serarch.

@starfish: which specialization are you going to take?

If you'll choose Arts, you must come to Italy at least one time in lifetime! ;)
Well, you should come anyway, even if you choose some other specialisation! :D

    Hello everyone,

    Quick Question!

Just bought a CD of a band called Lacuna Coil.

how big are they in Italy?

And what does the word Senzafine mean. The its a name of a song they sing acoustically. And its entirely in Italian. I like it alot.

    Hi beezel26, welcome!
Well unfortunally Lacuna Coil are not so big in Italy... :( As you can see from their website www.lacunacoil.it, they do a lot of gigs around the world where are more apreciated.
"Senzafine" are two words, "senza" and "fine". They mean "without end".
By the way, I love that songs too!!

They are not that big around here either. I like their regular songs but the acoustic ones are better I believe.

And lets not forget the lead singer Christina Scabbia.
