OK, here's the doll I mentioned a few posts back. It's supposed to resemble Chanel (hence the green eyes), and was made for her daughter who likes Bratz dolls. The material for the doll's cloak is made from unused material from Chanel's cloak as well.

I actually showed the doll to Nalini Krishan herself, and now she wants one as well!

Thanks. But of course, I didn't make it. The idea to do it was mine, but our friend Nikki actually made it. :)

Since I don't have a lot of free time on my hands lately this is my "trial run" for my Barris Offee Jedi halloween costume. I only have a headshot, but the costume is a long black dress/robe with a hood and arm cuffs that have golden embroidery on them. These are my "practice" makeup shots, being in a hurry I didn't do the greatest job with the nose/upper cheek tattoos, but I was surprised how well I ended up doing. Let me know what you think, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

looks good, but the pattern isn't QUITE right, if you want to, Tenyon's stencil
    Here
just print it and use an x-acto knife, then I actually used black gel-y kind of makeup, and sponged it on VERY CARFULLY, then clean the edges with a eyeliner pencil, but the stencilwas my lifesaver.

On another note, I absolutly ADORE that hood, it looks soooo pretty!

I was wondering if any of you have attempted to make Barriss' light sabre. I have seen a few god pics, but anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!

Hello everyone. I'd just like update this thread with pics of my own Barriss Offee costume, which I wore to C4. Now, I'd like to start off by saying that I'm not much of a seamstress, so parts of this costume were made for me. A friend of my aunt made the skirt, cloak, and a top. Unfortunately, I wasn?t really happy with the way the top came out. It was ribbed, and also more soft and fuzzy in texture. On top of that, she made it vertically ribbed as opposed to horizontally, not realizing her mistake until halfway through. My best friend Ashley came with me on the trip, so I decided to see if we could stitch together another top at the last minute. She knows how to sew, but was busy during the year with work. Anyway, I was able to find the perfect material, and we ended up using all of our free time at the convention cutting and sewing the fabric by hand. The top material is also transparent in certain places, so I had to wear a tight-fitting athletic shirt underneath. Overall, I'm happy with the results. The cloak isn't exactly the way I'd want it either, but the woman who made it saved the rest of the material. I'll see if we can alter that to make it look a bit better. These pics were actually taken by someone else, since my own didn't come out as clear:

The outside of the cloak is actually the underside of the fabric. The heavy black satin was sewn on top to give it the proper weight.

Is her costume on the cover like medic overalls? That's what it looks like to me, and even looks like it has a pocket on the arm facing the "camera". It doesn't look like the ribbed material of her regular costume.

    Thoughts/feedback?

TragicLove - what material did you use for the cloak?

The buckle we've come up with. The flash washed it out. You can see the smaller "inside" heart, etc when there's no flash 3" away from it (guess i was too close).

Never could find decent fabric, so we ended up hand stenciling/painting the cloak. We're going for the pattern from the live action cloak and the color from the clone wars cartoons. Color representation not 100% here (camera processing), but you'll get the idea.

Nice costume! Must make myself the "chick lightsaber" it would work for my Shaak Ti costume and the Barriss Offee I am going to start. Do you have any tutorial or plans for it?

Anyone working on this costume for this Halloween? Will post with my progress..

I have been debating about the cloak pattern, would it be best to do the stamp or use a stencil?

On my gf's, she cut a stencil of her liking and used paint (fabric/oil/somethin') and just painted it on. It is a sllooowwww process...but the reward pays off. If you **do** go the stencil route, be sure to stop & clean the stencil out frequently, it was caking up on us quickly (depends on the paint).

For the material, to me her cloak looks like a medium wool (probably not, i'm just guessin').

She was gettin' it ready for Dragoncon, so i should have pictures up sometime next week or the one after.

For one thing, the ribbing isn't there on the top.

The cloak's cut & drape **seem** to be close enough. Getting the exact fabric is nightmarish to say the least. We resorted to hand-painting on the heavier cloak (not pictured above). It needs to be turned inside out, but the ad says it's reversible.

The belt problem is easily fixed.

The missing ribbing, however, will take some sewing to get that on.
