TOS. Baiten Kaitos is a crappy card battle game like Lost Kingdoms. And the combat system is way to random to even be enjoyable. The combat system for TOS is way better, it plays like Star Ocean. With much more involved combat. You can move all over the battlefield and it is in real time. The characters for both games are pretty lame and their stories are pretty cliched and predictable but if you have to choose between the two I guess I would pick TOS just for the combat system, BK's is just a messs.

Baten Kaitos is a great game and so is Tales of Symphonia. I own both and my friends and I play them a lot and they both agree that they're some of the best RPG's out right now. It doesn't matter which one you get as long as it is one of those games.

I like the look of Baten's cinematics...

but is that enough reason to get it over ToS?

I played a bit of ToS and the combat system was good, however the characters were really cliched. Turn the American voices off.
