    IC: Scarecrow
    ~Clock Tower - Gotham City~

As Scarecrow peaked around the corner, he nearly let out a gasp of horror. Standing around the corner, unaware of the newcomer in the building, were Oracle, Batgirl, Huntress and Nightwing. If he hadn't known any better, he would have laughed openly at them; there were three women, surely they could do no harm. However, they were not ordinary women. Each one of them were nearly as deadly as Scarecrow himself. Add them together along with Nightwing would make for a near impossible victory for Scarecrow.

A smile appeared under the mask: nearly impossible, but no totally impossible. Crane was once a professor, having gone through many years of schooling for that; he was fairly intelligent. After only a few moments of thinking and listening, he had a plan.

He lunged forward, thrusting himself to the ground. He peered upwards at the group, prying at his mask. "Help!" he screamed. "Arkham gone! The city...chaos!" He then fell motionless to the ground. Hopefully the group decided to play hero, and attempt to rescue the fallen man who had obviously gone crazy. If they didn't...he hoped for interference from another escapee...

Onyx - The Abandonded Theme Park

Ony moved steathly within the darkned theme park.

Batman was certain that Onyx was close by. He crept silently through the broken down entrance of the abandoned theme park. She had begun to wonder where Batty had gone off to, like soome pechulant school girl, when her tiny friend suddenly beeped. Bad music suddenly blared off to one side of her position. She immedately flowed, changing course to parellel the new location. She was pretty sure that someone had just announced his approach. Her earpiece let her pick up the annoying sounds as well, as she moved closer.

Suddenly, the music came to a suddenly end, which caused Onyx to move a bit faster. As she crept silently around one ancient ride, she heard a voice speak. She knew the voice the moment she heard it, and she grimiced. She guessed that Bats probably felt like doing the same himself.

"I always hated their music," a high pitched, psychotic voice spoke. Onyx groaned. She then frowned. Was it just her, or did that seem a bit too easy? Or was perhaps the Joker getting a bit long in tooth, and getting sloppy. No, she couldnt believe that. She listned to the maddening converstation, as she made her way to a point, where she could now see them both clearly.

The Joker's stood, facing Bats. "Ah! Gasp!" He brought his hands to his mouth. "Is it really? Could it be? The Batman has paid his old pal a visit? I wonder if he brought flowers?" Onyx moved slowly, finding a more defendible spot, as she stopped once again.

"Cut the act, Joker," Batman said, holding his right hand up slightly beside his waist. A signal. Geesh, it was rather annoying that Bats thought she was still some rookie. She wasnt the one who set off his trap. And his wit was as dry as ever, as he spoke to Joker. "Your vacation's over."

Joke took no time in responding to Batman's stonic statement."Tear," the Joker whimpered. "And I was beginning to think that you were going to forgive me for all the terrible things I've done to this marvelous city." He sighed. "Oh well, life goes on." Out of the distant shadows, a large group of thugs with clown masks emerged, holding bats, clubs, crowbars, and chains. "For some of us. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!" On that hysterical note, the Joker exited the area, disappearing behind the approaching group of thugs that began to encircle the Batman.

Onyx held back a snort, as she watched Joker move, to dissapear within the same direction the thugs were coming from. She gauged her possible actions. Batman, should be able to hold back a few minor thugs, no matter what. But knowing him, he would not like the thought of losing the Joker. Not when he was so close. No use giving her position away quite so quickly. She still monitored Batty, and if he sounded like he was running into trouble she could come back. But right now, she rather find out what was going on with the Joker. It was unlike him to leave. Usually, he would sit back and watch his victems, gloating all the while, as he spouted nonsense. So, what had the Joker in such a hurry?

She move with a dark gracefulness, as she moved slowly. She could hear every ftootstep and heartbeat near her. The mechanical sounds of any trap, would reach her ears, while she spanned out her senses. She moved in darkness, checking to see where the mad Joker had dissapeared off to. What was so important, that he had to leave a taunting session with Batman?

Onyx intended to find out, and she hopped that Batman could hold his own, for a little while at least. If not, then she would truly know something was wrong with him.

Wilma clicked her tongue in her mouth as she mulled over the proposal and began to scratch idly on the tablecloth with her claw. Her eyes met with that of the Penguin, and she recrossed her legs as if to adjust her seating position, or perhaps entice the bird-lover into a more compromising position. "Explain to me how this is win-win? And use smaller words this time around, Pengie baby." If the reptilian woman couldn't entice the Penguin with her way with words, perhaps her lithe body could prove more... negotiable.

    Red Hood

    Gotham City, Warehouse, Hobbs Bay

This was one of those moments when Red Hood was glad his face was covered by his notorious red helmet. Seeing Bane like that was a complete surprise....and disturbing. Thakfully, none could see his facial expressions. The CPUs Bane placed on Stage were definitely of interest, just as much as they were suspect, but so was everything else in the night's developments.

Two-Face continued to flip his coin. ?While we?re waiting for the others to get here, I?ll tell you what?s going on here.? He stopped flipping the coin, catching it in the palm of his right hand and putting it in the interior pocket of his jacket. ?While you were in Arkham Asylum, the rest of us were plotting. Myself, Bane, Poison Ivy, Hush, Penguin, Riddler, Zsasz, everyone who wasn?t stuck in Arkham was here, planning our takeover of Gotham City. I don?t have to tell you that this city is ours for the taking. There?s just one little obstacle that stands in our way. With all of us united, we will bring down the Batman, and put an end to his legacy. Of course, if you choose to decline??

Two-Face flipped his coin, and frowned at the result. ??you won?t have to worry about anything.?

Once again Red Hood was glad for the facial covering. As far as anyone viewing him was concerned, he was on the edge of disinterest. His posture said as much, but internally his mind was racing. This was such an extremely unique and rare opportunity. It was too good to be true.

The Red Hood did not give an immediate answer, since he wished to know more. However, these lunatics now had his undivided attention.

It was also a good thing that Mr.Freeze had opinions of his own to share. It kept him from commenting too soon.

"And you trust the others - you trust us - enough to let us in on this?" asked Freeze.

"Your plan is mad to begin with, but feasible. If we all attack him in turn, he will crumble and fall. But what about the aftermath? Whatever you've got the others in on, it's nothing more than a tentative truce, and that means that after the Knight's fallen, we become a pack of rabid jackals." continued Freeze.

"So what's in it for us? What will keep this peace steady?"

"Yeah! what he SAID..." Red Hood put in enthusiastically.

Within the red helmet and inside the Red Hood's mind, a plethora of possible scenarios played themselves out. All with far reaching results.

Two-Face flipped his coin, not caring about the result. ?Hierarchy,? he said. ?Once our employer has control of Gotham City, he will establish an hierarchy consisting of those who helped him in his pursuit. You will be included, if you choose to accept this offer.

?Now, decision time. You?re in or you?re out, right now, no questions asked.?

The Penguin didn?t like it when folks requested him to use smaller words, but he wouldn?t make a scene out of it, especially with a woman of such stature as Wilma?s.

?You will receive a generous reward in helping to take down the Bat. If that isn?t win-win, my dear, I don?t know what is.? He clucked in amusement. ?I am to depart for an assembly in just a few moments, and would be honored if you would join me.?

Batman was holding his own against Joker?s crooks, who put up a decent fight nonetheless.

The Joker was skipping towards a nearby limousine, wiping dust off of his bright purple suit as he did so. ?Oh!? he exclaimed. ?A limousine. How kind!?

Without another word, he entered, and shut the door promptly behind him.

    Mr. Freeze

Freeze calculated the odds of this alliance surviving. They weren't good. In seconds flat he'd made his decision, based on this probability.

"I'll take this deal." he said.

The worst that could happen is a betrayal, but Freeze knew to expect that now. He'd be ready - perhaps he'd do the betraying. After all, he thought, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

    "Who is this...employer...?"

Batman was holding his own against Joker?s crooks. That was a bit of a relief. After his eariler strange anticks, she was begining to worry. So Onyx stayed with the Joker, following as he skipped towards..

    A limo?

The Joker neared limousine, wiping dust off of his bright purple suit as he did so. ?Oh!? he exclaimed. ?A limousine. How kind!?

Onyx thought for a moment. A limo didnt quite seem Jokers style. Not a plain one. Did someone send it for him? By his comments, she wondered. But there was no way she was going to follow the limo, and leave Batts to grumble...again.

Without another word, the Joker entered, and shut the door promptly behind him. Onyx grabbed another one of her tiny marbles, and tossed it towards the limo. She would wait to activate the signal, just in case the car had some type of warning system attached to it. She would wait, just long enought to see which way it headed, before she went to check on Bats. Now what was sooo important, that the Joker would dissapear in a limo, instead of being a pain to Batman?

    What indeed?

Onyx moved to get a better view, as she waited to see what happened next.

The Red Hood shifted his weight, arms still folded infront of him. He held his chin, as one would do when thinking deeply on something. For in truth, it appeared as if he were weighing his options.

Even before the Red Hood could formulate an answer, Mr.Freeze gave his response.

"I'll take this deal." he said.

The Red Hood had very little choice in the matter now. Freeze could just turn aroud and make him into a popsicle. Not a very good end to a promising career.

"yeah, count me in." The Red Hood said in agreement, then looked around once more for any signs of their new 'partners'.

"Who is this.....employer?" Mr. Freeze asked of Two-face.

Now THAT was a very good question. Since none of the before mentioned villains was able to take care of the 'bat problem' on t heir own, the Red Hood was extremely curious as to who believed themselves up to the task.

He knew what 'one' answer he would not like. Not one bit.
