Battle Of The Heroes vs. Duel Of The Fates

I'd have to say Duel of the Fates.

 

As much as I love both, I like BOTH...er what the. lol Battle of the heros.

 

I would say I liked "Battle of the Heroes" much more after I saw the movie. You can listen "Duel of the Fates" by itself but "Battle of the Heroes" has greater impact with the film. "Battle of the Heroes" is also the only concert suite version of a SW theme that you hear almost in it's entirety in the movie. From the shot of them fighting over the lavafall to when Obi-Wan cutting off Anakin's limbs it's the concert version (except for the beginning with the horns and the ending with the drums) played on the soundtrack.

 

Battle of the Heroes. Battle of the Heroes has more Chorus sound to it. Duel of the Fates is great, but Battle of the Heroes has stronger intensity, if you know what I mean.

 

Battle of heroes for me. It is somewhat more epic and more dramatic.

 

It's kind of too bad about the version of "Duel of the Fates" that ended up in the film/soundtrack. The original version of the piece (TPM "completists" have heard this) was much more energetic and more creative in orchestration.

 

Are you referring to "The Great Duel?"

 

I prefer Battle of the Heroes. The melody seems a lot more structured.

 

Both are awesome but I like DOF a little bit more.

Both of these songs are two forms of awesome. But I have to go with Duel Of The Fates. Something inside of it is just magical. It's just very Star Wars... to put it lamely as I can't think how else to describe it.

 

Nope. "The Great Duel" is pretty good, but only a short film cue. This is the full, alternative version of "Duel of the Fates."

 

I prefer Duel of the Fates. It's so much more intense and energetic.

Duel of the Fates. Battle of the Heroes is nice, especially with that little bit of Force theme thrown in the middle (I think), but Duel is just really energetic and fun to listen to.

Duel Of The Fates gets my vote. As Williams put it, it sounds grandiose and like a religious quasar type feeling...or something like that, ha ha.
