I don't know if this has been talked about and I'm sorry if it has.
So far through all 5 Star Wars movies there have been different battle styles presented.

TPM and ATOC the battle style reminded me of the American civil and revolutionary wars. Straight lines of soliders charging at each other in a open battle field. You have big guns in the back shooting away kinda like the canon balls in the civil war.

ANH: There battle style is more like air combat, flying of the DS bombing n taking out as many targets as you can. WW 1 and 2 I think were refernced once when talking about the final battle in ANH. When I think about now it reminds me kinda of any war that involves air craft going in and bombing.

ESB: There is the snow battle trench warfare for the rebels, which is similiar to the trenchs in WW I.

RTOJ: The battle in this movie similiar to the gurellia warfare of Vietnam.

The one battle style I thought was crazy, was in ATOC you have Jedi leading the way aganist all those battle droids, with nothing but a light saber.
