Battlefront 3 trailer: Electrostaff 'light'saber?

    In the leaked Battlefront 3 trailer, what is that sword that the trooper-armored guy was using? It looked like a lightsaber, except that the entire blade was replaced with the magnaguard electrostaff ends. Has this shown up elsewhere in the EU?

    I guess this COULD be a minimally practical, non-KOTOR, defense against lightsaber for the common man.
