Battlefront, Disappointing or not!

I was looking forward to playing Battlefront it looked really good, ive only just got my hands on a copy which thankfully is my mates. I was so disappointed with it im glad i didnt fork out the cash to buy it, was anyone else disapointed with the mind numbing blast blast and then being re-spawned every now and again?

I wasn't. Then again I knew what to expect. The game is set up for online death match. Nothing more, nothing less. I rented it and plan on buying it, but I am going to wait for an after Christmas price drop. I'm nothing if not a how shall we say "budget" gamer. (Or Cheap if you want to be mean..)

 

I didn't like it much despite knowing what it was. Then again I only played SP and I also tend not to like FPS games, so...

 

Yes. I was disappointed. More in the lack of polish than anything else. Why can't they finish the **** games? Why the **** did they have to put it out with the DVD? A few more months and this game could have been awesome. Instead we got stuck with a good SW game that should have been great. If they had worked out balance issues, added more modes of play and paid attention to continuity this game would be insanely great. Now it's just a fun game to waste time with.

 

I know, I myself am not dissapointed in the game. I mainly play it on SP, which I find to be fun. I do wish there were more maps though, I mean it gets boring to play the same maps each and every time.

I tried it on MP, but that was back before the patch, so I'll have to try it another time. And the game is designed for MP, no question about it.

If you dont have Xbox LIVE, PS2 Online or the PC version, then ill understand why you are dissapointed in Battlefront. The Single player is boring, but were its at is online. Thats why I got Battlefront, so that I can play ONLINE with 23 other Xbox Livers.

whoa, down boy. all i was saying is that if the game wasn't as good as you had hoped, then by definition you found it disappointing. obviously, that doesn't mean that everyone else did. no need to shout.

I think it's the best SW game after KOTR. Who wouldn't want to play the best ground battle in the SW universe?

Please, keep it civil. No need for shouting or anything like that. And no need to keep on pushing it Delt.

We all make typing mistakes. I know I'm a classic example of that.

 

If I was expecting a lot from it, yes, it would be disappointing:

-A complete lack of varying modes

-A lack of class variation

-Lack of class balance(Droidekas are way too powerful)

-Inablity to have matchups beyond Rebs vs Imps and Droids vs Clones.

-Shoddy A.I. Sometimes they do things excellently, but mostly they seem unaware of the tactical situation and do stupid things(i.e. they don't protect a spawn point under direct assault, but go after an enemy spawnpoint far away; this happens most: accidentally grenading allies in a close-quarters combat situations-- it's ******* annoying!)

-Bad-- and I mean bad-- vehicle controls. I had to go and completely reconfigure the damn control setup.

-Glitches up the wazoo; the one I've most noticed is when I crash vehicles on non-existant obstacles.

 

This game rocks.

If you play it for a while and get good at it it ets to be a lot more fun

 

Yeah. BTW, you have to issue commands to your troops to get them to do things. They do just run out and do their own things, unless you tell them to do something specific. I found the A.I. to be great.

 

I thouroughly enjoy it!

Can you please just calm down, both of you. The only thing thats going to happen here is a mod is going to come in and someone is going to get in trouble. Which I'd hate to see happen.

I love Battlefront. Yeah without playing online in some co-op fashion I can see how seom can see it as 'mind numbing' or whatever.
But IMO it rules no matter!

 

Calming down would be a good thing for you to do right about...now.
