Its placement on the Del-Rey timeline between Heir to the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back is intriguing. So likely not Battle of Jakkun (saving that for Aftermath?). Perhaps ... Sullust?

Not super into this, but I like that Freed is getting a shot at a novel.

I'm sure it took all their willpower not to release this on September 4th.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't get Sean Williams to write this. Doesn't he do all of the video game novels?

Difference being, Williams didn't insult the fan base. Travis did. I enjoyed his TFU adaptation, so he would have been perfect for another game book.

Guess that makes up for the game's lack of a campaign/story.

Another downer, wow, no news about an adult movie novelization. So the junior novel thing which is prevalent in the Marvel Universe is also part of star wars. So star wars is the new Marvel run by Disney. This book has suckiness written over it. You guys here just fall googoo gaga over any star wars news. wow, this weekend was suppose to be great and its been one disappointment after the other, from the trailer to the comic book announcement to this one and to all that clone war crap they were working on. Even that series would have never ended from what we were told....I'm going back to my whiskey. Maybe Lucas was right after all, too much of one thing is not a good thing

...you do realize it is only Friday, right? The Del Rey panel is tomorrow. I think it is pretty likely we will get a lot more news there.

How can they do an adult novelization if everything is canon now? The Novelization will almost certainly have differences from the film and how can you tell the same event twice?

It's been done before. A cool way it was done was when James Cameron had Orson Scott Card write the novelization for The Abyss. He brought the author on set, and sent him updates with edits, etc. When OSC wrote scenes for the characters; backstory, Cameron gave those to the actors so that they would know their backstory. The synergy between the filmmaker and the writer of the novelization (and its uncanny nature among novelizations of adding to without contradicting the film) made it into a very successful and highly regarded work.

It can be, and had been done. But it requires a lot of effort.

Hey Tziz whats with the jab? Who do you think you are to say about quality posting? Alright, I'll stop before I get banned again but that comment was unnecessary. So what if I want a movie novelization If I'm down its because I wanted or expected something else than what we got. That's all.

Freed wrote the Imperial Agent story in SWTOR, right? In any case, still looking forward to Aftermath more, but I expect this book to be good, as well.

I wonder if this will be a series, a la Republic Commando. Seeing how the game at this point goes from ANH-era through post ROTJ , there's plenty of room to follow 'Twilight Company' through several campaigns.
