Well hello. Am new to site and am finding it a bit difficult to get around.
Also, trying to get into Scifi3d ( sign in-with no registration or how this all is setup and works)

But, Thought I would share my BSG makes. Though I am very new to 3d apps, modeling, animation and gfx.

I began 3d- Cinema4d- in October of 2010 and just a few months prior began After effects.
So bear in mind I am a amateur beginner and in learning by self teaching trial and error.

    In Chronological order of creation:

    Titled: Annihilation
    Credits: End of Video
    Runtime: 7:48
    Link to Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qI4YRvVY_Xw

    Titled: Battle of Atlantia
    Credits: see below
    Runtime: 3:04
    Link to Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1iosOkcPUc

I realize there is a typo on the nameplate.

    Titled: Battlestar Atlantia under attack
    Credits: see below
    Runtime: 2:09
    Link to Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok0uiIEx4Vg

    MODELS
    David Kerin ...Battlestar ...Viper ...Raider

    TARANIS ...Landing Bay ...Laser Cannon

    H.Gibbens ...Viper

Titled: A New Dawn Colonials strike back
    Credits: see below
    Runtime: 2:11
    Link to Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xAo_DAgO4Q

This was a wip and is unfinished. Made more changes to models and added some new animated textures for cockpit and tried making a better space environment.
Am just too green and inexperienced at present. too many errors to correct and re-render.

    Couple of offbeat BSG vidz-

    Cylon Terminator
    Link to Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nBHeYwmmOk

    Cylons can't Dance
    Link to Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9sL-rVRCQ4
    is on my other channel.

That is some dedicated fan art.
Did you do all that in response to Syfy's Battlestar re-boot, or just sheer :-B nerdyness?

    Thank you for commenting.

Actually it is mostly due to the fact that I was an Original watcher of the original series and like most, have been waiting for the second season, next episode, next film since 1978-79
like most others from the time.

Was completely taken with the show. And since becoming disabled ( 2007 )
and discovering Gfx,3d- models-animation (2010)was one of the very first things I began to try and emulate.

My actual first video is not on here but my very first attempt at a model was a Viper :D
and the video. Deemed it unworthy for showcase.

At the time it was really awesome for a TV show, just coming off of the Star Wars Film #1 (episode IV A New Hope in 1977).

Imo nothing came close to it till 1986 with Star Trek TNG

    Regards,

    Got it, nerdyness then. :D

I have to admit that I had only scrubbed through a few of the you tubers before I made my last comment, and only really watched 1/2 of Annihilation just now.
If we could curse on this forum, I would. I do believe I've seen "DAY-UM" get past the filters, so I'm going with that.

Technically I see a lot of corners cut (<--in-joke, let's pretend it was funny) in terms of modeling and rendering, but for sheer Herculean effort in getting those scenes blocked and shot I gotta hand it to you, it's a nice body of work!

Feel free to ignore this arguably tactless question: Is your disability tragic or merely interesting?

Well, yes, it was herculean effort considering I got no experience or clue as to how, what where and when :D

But is a learning process on the same token also.

Learning and trying to do ALL THAT IS actually involved in making a CG short is quite an undertaking for any "one" person. And then there is audio too....

But, unlike the 1000's of noobs, I began with trying to make a grandiose video vs
an abstract render or piece for a Photoshop still. 2d Art just does not do anything for me,
especially when it is mostly others work- renders,games-photos etc and added brush, smush, smear and smudge....and then there are the premade brushes too .....

As for the disabling , is tragic for me. At the young age of 45 (current), and actually since 2003,
have not been able to do any physical activity. Loss of prospects-opportunities-income etc etc is "Tragic" lol. Then there is the other half- all those head injuries caught up in the form of quite a few mental issues. And other physical maladies that am too young to be experiencing.... well, interesting or not there it is.

in maybe another year or 2 I should be able to actually make what I imagine or see.
Y-O-Y dint I begin this 30 years ago...?

    Thanks
