I don't know if any of you have this, but I'm going out and buying it tomorrow.

Bought this game for 15$ at walmart and it is in the very least a good space combat game,


Go buy it and decied for yourself though becuase I still have not beat it

FlareStorm's jawa thing trips me out........so is this game as good as rouge squadron?

 

Whoa, it's been like 3 years since i played this game.

If you're a space combat sim/shooter fan (like Rogue Squadron, Colony Wars, Starfighter), you should get a kick out of this one.

I found it to be more of a challenge then Rogue Squadron or Starfighter, but nowhere near as difficult as Colony Wars or Star Trek: Invasion.

Fun if you're a BG fan, too, getting to see Cain and Adama when they were still young top guns.

I can remember a couple of very frustrating missions, though.. The one where you have to fly in formation with the cylons and the one where you have to defend the Galactica against those giant asteroids ome to mind...

 

I'm a BG fan and found this at Hastings for $10.
Traded it a few weeks later.
Couldnt' beat it. It's too hard for my weak skills.
I guess it's back to Rebel Strike, soon as I pull the dust bunnies from my 'cube.

 

Its a good game, can be diffcult but not impossbile. It's a buy in my book.

...one thing i did really like about this game was how you could adjust your missile settings...(maximize the speed, sacrifice power, go for agility over blast radius..)

I mean, it's not X-WING level flexibility, but it's more then you normally get in a console spaceshooter.

I'm already up to Mission 11, but those pesky Raiders keep on shooting me down.

I had to go to an FAQ of the game at Gamespot.com to remember which mission #11 was..

And man, when i read the description, painful memories came rushing back in

If at first you don't succeed, try try again is all i can tell you. Remember to not be afraid to go Turbo and get the heck out of harm's way..

 

Those damn troopships! I can't get past them!

And I hate the Strike Viper. I want my Mk II back!


Does anyone watch the new series by any chance?

 

I love the new series.

So, is this really a good game? If it is, I must buy it since it would be sooooo cheap now (and I love space flight sims).

 

It's brilliant. I've finished it now. But it's very tough.
