Yes, he is a squirrel engrossed in the Apollonian tradition, and that of the Geto Boy Scarface.

    Anyway, how about a song...

Fight the Power by Public Enemy

1989 the number another summer (get down)
    Sound of the funky drummer
Music hittin' your heart cause I know you got sould
    (Brothers and sisters, hey)
    Listen if you're missin' y'all
    Swingin' while I'm singin'
    Givin' whatcha gettin'
    Knowin' what I know
    While the Black bands sweatin'
    And the rhythm rhymes rollin'
Got to give us what we want
Gotta give us what we need
Our freedom of speech is freedom or death
We got to fight the powers that be
    Lemme hear you say
    Fight the power

    Chorus

As the rhythm designed to bounce
What counts is that the rhymes
    Designed to fill your mind
Now that you've realized the prides arrived
We got to pump the stuff to make us tough
    from the heart
    It's a start, a work of art
To revolutionize make a change nothin's strange
People, people we are the same
    No we're not the same
Cause we don't know the game
What we need is awareness, we can't get careless
    You say what is this?
My beloved lets get down to business
    Mental self defensive fitness
    (Yo) bum rush the show
You gotta go for what you know
Make everybody see, in order to fight the powers that be
    Lemme hear you say...
    Fight the Power

    Chorus

Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant **** to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
    Simple and plain
Mother **** him and John Wayne
Cause I'm Black and I'm proud
I'm ready and hyped plus I'm amped
Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamps
Sample a look back you look and find
Nothing but rednecks for 400 years if you check
    Don't worry be happy
    Was a number one jam
Damn if I say it you can slap me right here
(Get it) lets get this party started right
    Right on, c'mon
    What we got to say
Power to the people no delay
    To make everybody see
In order to fight the powers that be

    (Fight the Power)

    This just in!

    //calls Afternoon Delight

I have received information from a credible source claiming that secret plans are under way to reform one of the JC Community boards. These plans are as of yet unkown to the moderators, but they will be revealed later this week by at least one prominent JCer via petition.

I get the feeling, B'omarr is avoiding your last question Casper. [face_mischief]

And that is some very interesting info. Hmmm....

But first this. B'omarr, what JC mod or admin should be demoted?

Whoa, putting me on the spot there. There are a couple I don't have too much in common with, that I've come close to butting heads with, but that doesn't reflect on their moderating abilities really.

There is a certain 'topic s locker' who is not around too much and doesn't seem to pull their own weight. I'm sure they're actually a nice person, but they don't seem to do that much work compared to the other mods.

That is some news, RR! We'll try and delve into that as we go along.

And now, "Give Me Some Truth" by John Lennon:

I'm sick and tired of hearing things
    From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth

I've had enough of reading things
    By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
    Money for dope
    Money for rope

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
    Money for dope
    Money for rope

I'm sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mama's little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth now

I've had enough of watching scenes
    Of schizophrenic, ego-centric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth now
    Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
    It's money for dope
    Money for rope

Ah, I'm sick and tired of hearing things
    from uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth now
    Just gimme some truth now

I've had enough of reading things
    by neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth now
    Just gimme some truth now

All I want is the truth now
    Just gimme some truth now
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth

I'm not the mudslinging type. I will say this though, that isn't a typo in my post above.

Ironically enough, there was a typo in this one though.

Let's keep this show rolling, here's a little Bob Dylan...

    Ballad of a Thin Man

    You walk into the room
With your pencil in your hand
    You see somebody naked
And you say, "Who is that man?"
    You try so hard
    But you don't understand
    Just what you'll say
    When you get home

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

    You raise up your head
And you ask, "Is this where it is?"
And somebody points to you and says
    "It's his"
    And you say, "What's mine?"
And somebody else says, "Where what is?"
And you say, "Oh my God
    Am I here all alone?"

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

    You hand in your ticket
And you go watch the geek
Who immediately walks up to you
    When he hears you speak
And says, "How does it feel
    To be such a freak?"
    And you say, "Impossible"
As he hands you a bone

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

    You have many contacts
    Among the lumberjacks
    To get you facts
    When someone attacks your imagination
    But nobody has any respect
    Anyway they already expect you
    To just give a check
    To tax-deductible charity organizations

    You've been with the professors
And they've all liked your looks
    With great lawyers you have
    Discussed lepers and crooks
    You've been through all of
    F. Scott Fitzgerald's books
    You're very well read
    It's well known

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you
    And then he kneels
    He crosses himself
And then he clicks his high heels
    And without further notice
He asks you how it feels
And he says, "Here is your throat back
    Thanks for the loan"

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

Now you see this one-eyed midget
    Shouting the word "NOW"
And you say, "For what reason?"
    And he says, "How?"
And you say, "What does this mean?"
And he screams back, "You're a cow
    Give me some milk
    Or else go home"

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

Well, you walk into the room
Like a camel and then you frown
You put your eyes in your pocket
And your nose on the ground
There ought to be a law
    Against you comin' around
    You should be made
    To wear earphones

    Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
    Do you, Mister Jones?

We've got a request from jp-30 -- and this is to all you Kiwis out there, "Private Universe" by Crowded House (Hear it):

No time, no place to talk about the weather
The promise of love is hard to ignore
You said the chance wasn't getting any better
The labour of love is ours to endure

The highest branch on the apple tree
Was my favourite place to be
I could hear them breaking free
But they could not see me

    I will run for shelter
    Endless summer lift the curse
    It feels like nothing matters
    In our private universe

I have all I want, is that simple enough?
A whole lot more I'm thinking of
    Every night about six o'clock
The birds come back to the palm to talk
They talk to me, birds talk to me
If I go down on my knees

    I will run for shelter
    Endless summer lift the curse
    It feels like nothing matters
    In our private universe
    Feels like nothing matters
    In our private universe

And it's a pleasure that I have known
And it's a treasure that I have gained
And it's a pleasure that I have known

    It's a tight squeeze but I won't let go
Time is on the table and the dinner's cold

    I will run for shelter
    Endless summer lift the curse
    It feels like nothing matters
    In our private universe

A song that always gets me: "Many Rivers To Cross", this version by Harry Nilsson (you know who that is):

    Many rivers to cross
But I can`t seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
    The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it`s only my will
    That keeps me alive
I`ve been licked, washed up for years and
I merely survive because of my pride.

And this loneliness won`t leave me alone
It`s such a drag to be on your own
My woman left and she didn't say why
Well I guess I have to try.
Many rivers to cross but just where to begin
    I`m playing for time
There`ll be times I find myself thinking
    Of committing some dreadful crime.

I`ve got many rivers to cross
But I can`t seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost as I travel along
    The white cliffs of Dover
Many rivers to cross and it`s only my will
    That keeps me alive
I`ve been licked, washed up for years and,
I merely survive because of my pride.

One of the JC members, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells us:

"Hi. I'd like to take this opportunity to say I love JediJade. Play "How Deep Is Your Love" for her, please."

Well, that is some request, because yours truly believes the Bee Gees are satanic witches. But here you go.

I'll know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it's me you need to show ....

How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
    I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
    Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

    I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest darkest hour
You're my saviour when I fall
    And you may not think
    I care for you
    When you know down inside
    That I really do
And it's me you need to show ....

How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
    I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
    Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
    I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
    Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)

Excellent. I'm sending out the sexy, sweet sounds of Jarvis Cocker to Darth_AYBABTU.

    This one's for you, babe.

She came from Greece, she had a thirst for knowledge
She studied sculpture at Saint Martin's College
That's where I caught her eye
She told me that her Dad was loaded
I said "In that case I'll have rum and coca-cola
    She said "fine"
And then in 30 seconds time she said
"I want to live like common people
I want to do whatever common people do
I want to sleep with common people
I want to sleep with common people like you"
Well what else could I do?
I said "I'll see what I can do"
I took her to a supermarket
    I don't know why
but I had to start it somewhere
    so it started there
I said "pretend you've got no money"
    but she just laughed
and said "oh you're so funny"
    I said "Yeah
Well I can't see anyone else smiling in here
    Are you sure
you want to live like common people
you want to see whatever common people see
you want to sleep with common people
you want to sleep with common people like me?"
    But she didn't understand
she just smiled and held my hand
Rent a flat above a shop
Cut your hair and get a job
Smoke some fags and play some pool
Pretend you never went to school
But still you'll never get it right
'cos when you're laid in bed at night
    watching roaches climb the wall
if you called your dad he could stop it all
    yeah
You'll never live like common people
You'll never do whatever common people do
You'll never fail like common people
You'll never watch your life slide out of view
and then dance and drink and screw
because there's nothing else to do
Sing along with the common people
Sing along and it might just get you through
Laugh along with the common people
Laugh along although they're laughing at you
and the stupid things that you do
because you think that poor is cool
Like a dog lying in a corner
they will bite you and never warn you
    Look out
    they'll tear your insides out
    'cos everybody hates a tourist
    especially one who thinks
    it's all such a laugh
yeah and the chip stain's grease
will come out in the bath
    You will never understand
how it feels to live your life
    with no meaning or control
and with nowhere else to go
You are amazed that they exist
    and they burn so bright
whilst you can only wonder why
Rent a flat above a shop
Cut your hair and get a job
Smoke some fags and play some pool
Pretend you never went to school
But still you'll never get it right
'cause when you're laid in bed at night
    watching roaches climb the wall
if you called your dad he could stop it all
    yeah
You'll never live like common people
You'll never do whatever common people do
You'll never fail like common people
You'll never watch your life slide out of view
and then dance and drink and screw
'because there's nothing else to do
I want to live with common people like you.....

From EagleI to Catherine at Target, Chicago's "You're The Inspiration":

You know our love was meant to be
The kind of love that lasts forever
And I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time

You should know, everywhere I go
    You're always on my mind,
in my heart In my soul

You're the meaning in my life
    You're the inspiration
You bring feeling to my life
    You're the inspiration
    Wanna have you near me
I wanna have you hear me sayin'
No one needs you more than I need you

And I know, yes I know that it's plain to see
We're so in love when we're together
And I know that I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time

You should know, everywhere I go
    You're always on my mind,
in my heart In my soul

You're the meaning in my life
    You're the inspiration
You bring feeling to my life
    You're the inspiration
    Wanna have you near me
I wanna have you hear me sayin'
No one needs you more than I need you

Political_Analyst calls in with this update on the goings on in the Senate Floor...

Hey guys! This is Political_Analyst, and I'm just calling to tell everyone listening about what's been happening in the world of politics today - that is, the Senate Floor.

    Ahem.

The debate over the issue of abortion was revived in a series of very thoughtful arguments by both pro-choicers and pro-lifers. A new pro-life debator named Yada contributed this interesting thought in regards to the amount of abortions occurring:

"Someone (like Stalin, or Hitler) said once, "50 is a tradgedy, 5,000 is a statistic"...
or some such comparison. I'm wondering, are we guilty of the same thinking as them?"

The Bible Thread saw more debate as to the fogginess in the early years of Christianity. sleazo had this to say:

"Also, it's important to remember that history is written by those who have political power, the success stories of the world. Christianity for centuries was a persecuted religion. It would make sense that historians of that era, not wishing to lose their heads, wouldn't write of a Christ."

There was more discussion on the issue of homophobia today as well. Fire_Ice_Death stated as his final remarks:

"Personally I don't care, sexuality is best left for the bedroom or clubs. Not parades."

Other topics discussed today included nuclear power in space, the legalization of drugs, and evolution, among others.

Thanks for the update Political_Analyst :)
