    Well, rebelscum.com attended Hasbro's 2003 Star Wars Preview this afternoon, and the pics look impressive! From all appearances, the toy line for The Clone Wars might even surpass the lines from EP I and EP II in quality and # of units. With everything from ARC Troopers to Jedi Council sets to Anthony Daniels/ Ahmed Best figures to Anakin's starfighter, this product line looks awesome! Anakin's Starfighter appears to be a hybrid of the standard Jedi Starfighter and Anakin's podracer. My first impression is "AWESOME". Clickie on the pic below to see the full sized image.

    I don't think we have to worry about having much of a Star Wars "dry spell" while we wait for EP III. I thought you might enjoy the news.

    Yeah, I kinda dig it, too. With the Astromech right in front of him, he can more or less "look it in the eye" while he talks to him.

    It almost looks like he "bolted" a couple of podracing engines on the front.

    The ship looks cool, hope we see it in the CLONE WARS animated series!

    I can hear Anakin flying by in the middle of a dogfight with droid starfighters:

    "Now THIS is Skywalking!!!"
    :D

    I freakin hate being poor!!!! :( :_|

    I need a sugar daddy. hehehehe!

    EDIT-okay, what is that green "gun" (I'm assuming it's a gun) on Anakin's Starfighter? And is it normal for an apprentice to have his own modified Starfighter? Who the heck is Durge? And what the is he holding? Now that would be a cool costume to make.

    EDIT #2-well, I don't care how poor I am, I just have to have the Star Wars MR. POTATO HEAD set! How cute! Love it!

    It's not really a "gun", per se. Its just a green "laser bolt / torpedo"...ya know, for toys' sake.

    "And is it normal for an apprentice to have his own modified Starfighter?"

    No, but he is the chosen one. I imagine the story will tell how Anakin modified the Jedi Starfighter for his own.

    Actually, the following is from TOS.

    Spotlight: Anakin's modified Jedi starfighter
    Anakin's starfighter began as a standard Delta-7 Aethersprite that was heavily modified by the Chosen One to suit his demanding tastes for speed and control. It is more heavily armed than the standard Jedi starfighter, and handles better during atmospheric flight. These concept design sketches are by Ryan Church, one of the Concept Design Supervisors for Episodes II and III.

    "Who the heck is Durge?"

    Also from TOS...
    [image=http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news/2003/03/img/durge_spotlight_bg.jpg]
    Spotlight: Durge
    A long-lived bounty hunter who has replaced Jango Fett as Count Dooku's right-hand man, Durge has long held a grudge against the Mandalorians. Emerging from hibernation after the Battle of Geonosis, the bounty hunter learned that the Mandalorians were all but extinct. Their legacy continued, however, in the form of the Republic's clone troopers, forged from Jango Fett's genetic material. Durge then joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems to enact his revenge upon Jango's clones, and fights alongside Asajj Ventress in the Clone Wars.

    Having read the previous paragraph, I can hear you asking "Who is Asajj Ventress?"

    From TOS...

    [image=http://www.starwars.com/eu/news/2003/02/img//mace/spotlight_asajj_bg.jpg]
    A ruthless and cunning military mastermind, the beautiful and deadly Asajj Ventress was discovered by Count Dooku on a war-torn planet shortly after the Battle of Geonosis. She demonstrates a natural and corrupt mastery of the Force, and is a formidable opponent with her paired curved lightsabers.

    And yes, her lightsabers "click" / attach to each other to work like Maul's.

    So far, these characters have made thier debut in the Dark Horse Star Wars books. We also know that they will be in the Cartoon Network "The Clone Wars" series. Whether or not they will make it into EP III is unknown. I doubt we will.

    TOS = The Official Site = www.starwars.com

    And according to the TOS, the 20 3-minute animated shorts that are The Clone Wars will begin airing this fall on Cartoon Network.

    I'd expect the DVD right about the time Ep3 releases (ala The Animatrix).

    You do have a DVD player, don't you? :)

    Holy crap, that's only 2 years away! Hopefully the next 2 will be as short as this last one. But, then what? What do we have to wait for then?

    Well, they've said they'll air them at specific scheduled times, so hopefully that'll help.
