JCC Being Downvoted on Reddit Has Taught Me a Lot About Myself

It's taught me that I DO NOT LIKE to be downvoted. It's taught me that the only thing worse than being downvoted is not being upvoted, which I don't like more than anything else I don't like online. And I don't like so very many things online.

I just want to thank all of you for not being able to downvote me. You are all my brothers.

 

That's why I'm glad I don't visit Reddit, and why this place doesn't have that.

 

Jabba, I'd downvote you and all of your Jabba brothers on here if I could.

Then upvote you and only you.

 

I don't post on reddit much but when I do I strive for at least -50 "karma."

 

Thanks dp4m. I appreciate the thought. But even more I appreciate the fact that you can't do any of those things.

 

Edit: Downvotes? Really?

 

It's made me start to question whether I'm really as adorable and admired as I've always believed up to now.

 

i mean, i'd let you have my babies. i guess that doesn't count for much tho.

 

I just pictured a Prenn/Ken baby in my mind, and it was absolutely terrifying. It was a six foot tall, furry, drunk hypochondriac Chicken Little type creature.

 

Are you sure this downvoting thing is not just a tool for trolls?

 

It is indeed the most terrifying of all trolling tools, for it has no recourse, no appeal, no hope of redress. The only thing worse than anonymous trolls is anonymous trolls whose trolling is itself anonymous. it's like being bullied by a poltergeist, but you can't call Bill Murray or that short lady from Sixteen Candles.

I used the Reddit downvote button once, and I'm still struggling with the guilt.

 

Now I feel like the old man. Is this "downvote" thing like an "unlike". And speaking of, when will we have that option here?

 

Never (I hope). Our version of downvoting is not to respond or merciless ridicule, and it's a proven, time-tested model.

 

Reddit has no mods. I just realized that.

 

The Serial subreddit has 6 mods for its 14,000 subscribers, but some of them seem really naive and inexperienced. Obviously that's never the case here.
