With super heroes dominating the box office and every single movie and TV show from the 80s being remade/rebooted, you really didn't need super-vision to see this one coming.

    Original article here.

For those too young to remember, The Greatest American Hero focused on the adventures of school teacher Ralph Hinkley (briefly changed to Hanley after John Hinkley Jr.'s attempted assassination of President Reagan, and later changed back to Hinkley for the remainder of the series), who was given a special suit by aliens that gave him super powers, and his partner Bill Maxwell, a by-the-book FBI agent. Unfortunately, Ralph looses the suit's instruction manual and comedy ensues as the duo try to deal with the villain of the week.
Most people probably remember it for its theme song, the soft rock hit "Believe it or not" by the incomparable Joey Scarbury.

I'm sure they'll screw this up, but I actually think there's potential in this premise, and Lord and Miller have won me over with their work on the Jump Street films.

Don't know whether to shake my head in shame or jump for joy. That show was funny, but painful at the same time. I did appreciate the weekly glimpse of Connie Sellecca, though!

Continuation of the original series with the same character (The Doctor) in future incarnations. Not a reboot. The term 'reboot' is reserved for things like The Brady Bunch movies, the 2003 Battlestar Galactica (which had almost nothing to do with the original besides the ship name and the names of some of the characters), and the Colin Farrell Miami Vice movie.

It sounds like they're going to be tweaking this a bit. Ralph has been changed to Isaac for some reason, and I'd bet money he won't be a school teacher this time around either. But they are keeping the "Government handler" role (though in the original series Maxwell just happened to be there that night and he was also chosen by the aliens to aid Ralph. Government handler makes it seem like Isaac/Ralph will be working for some S.H.I.E.L.D.-like agency). Anyway, I was thinking about it, and there's only one man who can step into the shoes of the late, great Robert Culp. Bruce Campbell. It's perfect. So perfect it'll never happen, but a guy can dream.

We laugh, but would it surprise you? MSI, Out of this World, Small Wonder. The question is not "if", but "when".

Are you seriously implying that the BSG reboot is inferior to the original series?

Different strokes for different folks, but the BSG reboot really does not have much in common with the original.

I just hope they won't go all "darker & edgier" with this.

Beyond the characters and the concept? No. Tonally the original series and the reboot are totally different animals.
