Anyways, he kind of has the look of a smuggler, slicer or other shady type character. Love his look!! I hope he has a pretty solid part in this film!

In the best SW tradition, they will give the figure a "name" that is just a description (Snaggletooth, Hammerhead) or slight corruption thereof (Ree-Yees). My vote is on either SquintyEyes, Oddlysexy, or Unt Aym'd-Herr.

the one issue with BDT as force user is he doesn't look like one? not that one can't be a force user/smuggler/criminal type. i've forgotten what is leading to the force user ideas.

Well, I mentioned this in another thread, but part of it's got a striking resemblance to Han Solo's freighter from the first act of TFA...

Could just be an example of RJ re-using props from TFA for both economy and continuity of design, but something tells me DJ and Han knew each other. He may have even been the person Han got his freighter from...

 

He looks like he could be a bounty hunter. Maybe a Fett?

Ok, I'll go with the idea the DJ is part of something like DJ-1138.

He's an ex "Classic" Empire Stormtrooper, mocking these youngsters in their pretty redesigned armor that still doesn't do any good.

And mocking their enthusiasm for these New Fascists, who are just as bad as the Old Fascists that he foolishly fought for.

That's my headcannon fanfiction for the moment.
