I remember this back in 2003 or 2004, right? Someone started a thread in Comms over Anakin having long hair in an avatar.

Yeah, it wasn't so much as making banners back then as it was winning battles to keep them up.

 

It was in mid-late 2004. Less than a year before ROTS, and I was thinking... in two or three months time you're not going to be able to AVOID pictures of Anakin and EVERY OTHER CHARACTER in stores, in movie theaters, on TV. And you're getting pissed about this 50x50 picture of his head?

I'm just disappointed that it doesn't say something like 'Yarael Poof is getting an eye full'.

 

From what I remember, it wasn't even so much the cleavage as the fact that I thought she looked trampy and that it looked tacky up there. (Sorry LMM. )

It wouldn't be hard to find the thread as there was a link posted in the essential reading thread just last week I believe.

LMM did you make any changes to the banner? As I recall people were also claiming there were no main characters in the banner and felt it was blurry.

Didn't SoTS post the initial upheaval in his memory thread, as he got a lot of heat for putting it up at the time? Someone should find it.

Wow reading through that thread is beyond entertaining, and I'm still on page 3.

Well, LMM is surely competant, but this banner has many, many flaws.

Chances are - that was the only thing done right, the placement of the breasts.

Not about the banner. Just in general.

 

IMO, this is actually one of the better banners I've seen. The blurring in the background happens in photography as a matter of perspective. It must have been a slow day in Comms back then.

 

The thing with the blurring is that 1) the original image is like that, I didn't blur it at all or stretch it for that matter and 2) the glow from the neon combined with the slightly blurred background gives it that steamy/hazy look.
