I'd add Alias Grace to my list. Really fantastic and disturbing and a decent adaptation of difficult material.
Also the Metalhead episode of Black Mirror. a perfect sci fi short story.

I really need to see that. I liked the book, so I was already interested in it, but then I found out just a couple of days ago that Sarah Gadon is the lead and that really put me over the top. I've been waiting for her to really break big for a couple of years now. I doubt a literary adaptation miniseries is going to be the one to make her huge, but I'm glad to see her in the lead of something this interesting.

I actually thought that exact same thing regarding the desert shot and the train disembarkation.

I know we're unlikely to ever see it but I'm curious to see Spacey's performance because, even before the accusations and everything, I don't see him having that small layer of sympathy that Plummer brought.

Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold were just so good. I had to read Treasure Island after watching s4, and judging by the Amazon reviews of the book I'm not the only one.

Toby Schmitz, Clara Paget, and Jessica Parker Kennedy also shine. If the first season hadn't been so tacky I think the series would have a much better rep.

Also on the TeeVees, one of my favourite scenes in Twin Peaks was 2017 Dale Cooper meets 1990 Laura Palmer, and the closing minutes of the season as well.

Personal Shopper didn't do it for me but I did like A Ghost Story. Decent double feature, anyway.

More Okja in everything, dammit! Honestly, that is also an amazing double feature with Shape of Water.

From what I've watched that came out this year these are my rankings. 7 and 8 I didn't particularly want to see but I ended up enjoying them more than I thought.

    1 The Last Jedi
    2 Dunkirk
    3 Thor Ragnarok
    4 Spider-Man Homecoming
    5 Logan
6 Pirates of the Caribbean Salaazar's Revenge
    7 Beauty and the Beast
    8 Daddy's Home 2

I wanted to see Wonder Woman, Justice League (to form my own opinion on it one way or the other), Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Kingsman 2, Kong Skull Island, War for the Planet of the Apes and John Wick Chapter 2 but I either missed them at the cinema or didn't get around to seeing them.

Claire Foy was excellent as the greatest head of state of the 20th and 21st centuries.
