Best finish to a lightsaber duel?

Yup.

 

Maul vs Obi-Wan, and Anakin vs Obi-Wan. Nothing is better then watching people pay the price for their arrogance.

 

I was wondering where this thread went. Darth Maul impaling Qui Gonn was a good one too.

I always liked TESB duel I know it's cliche to like that one but Vader was always my guy and it just showed how badass he was. Plus you gotta love the big reveal and surprise of the main character losing his hand and the fight,pretty rare at the time.

Also fan of how whole duel seemed like chess at first then turned just brutal i know that's more than just finish sorry for exposition lol.

oh and TPM get to see Obi Wan win for first time,yay

 

Luke vs. Darth Vader (Return of the Jedi)

Luke finishes the duel by throwing his lightsaber away and says, "I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

To my mind, it is the way a Jedi ends a duel. He gives up and will not strike in anger any more, after realizing his mistake.

I think it shows great character development, both for Luke and Palpatine.

 

Personally I like the ending of ROTJ in which Luke obviously defeats Vader, but then casts aside his lightsaber which ultimately breaks the circle of violence. It is the most redemptive moment of the saga.

 

Finally.

My favorite would have to be the end of the Mustafar duel. It was a perfect set-up for the creation of Vader's Suit.

 

I love that duel. It's one of the best of the series, right behind Qui Gon/Obi Wan vs Darth Maul.
