Amph Better Call Saul (Spoilers within)

Did a rewatch of 3 Breaking Bad episodes, Fly, Fifty-One and Ozymandias. Been watching a Rian Johnson movie about quarterly through 2017 - Brick, Brothers Bloom, Looper and Last Jedi but took a chance to jump back into Breaking Bad for the 3 episodes he directed. And they're all really great, Fly is Walt and Jessie stuck in a room and Walt goes batty for "a contamination", Fifty-One is more Skylar centric as she realizes she's stuck with Walt and has some great Mike Ehrmantraut stuff. And Ozymandias is basically everything Walt tried to build crumbling apart in a single shot, super-dramatic stuff. And Johnson makes for some great looking episodes and Breaking Bad is always a great looking show.

What struck me is I haven't watched Breaking Bad ever since Better Call Saul started and, damn, Mike is totally ruthless. Also it was fun to see him threatening to kill Lydia in Fifty One when their first interaction on BCS is downright pleasant. I guess him getting closer to Fring will bring that out of him. Fring also is scarier on Breaking Bad by a bit but he's still a scary guy on Saul but he hasn't gone all that murder-y so far. I wonder if all the horrible turns that are due to happen to the characters on Saul will be more gradual, which it has been but there's still a bit out from where they start in BB, or if we're due for a one-shot-it-all-goes-to-hell like Ozymandias.

 

A lot later this year, but hey, we’ve got a season premier date!

Season 4 running Aug 2018 - Oct 2018 sounds good to me, especially when all the Fall 2018 shows will be starting end of Sept / beginning of October

How many more seasons will they do? Breaking Bad ran for 5.

 

The showrunner has said BCS will be no more than 5, so since this hasn't been announced as the final season, we can be fairly sure there will be one more and that's it.

 

Can't wait for the season premiere and have it open with more scenes from the mall.

 

It's been so long since I've watch BB. Jimmy goes into Witness Protection the same reason Walt was going to, but decides not to, right? So after the events that transpire in the BB finale, could Jimmy essentially return to his old self / old life with zero worries?

 

Heading back to the Omaha Cinnabon on August 6?

Not witness protection. They both used a guy to illegally "disappear." Walt had too much ego to stick to what the guy was telling him to do, but Jimmy stuck to it. He's paranoid that he will be found by either former associates or law enforcement.

 

Exactly. The some of those scenes from the mall show how paranoid Jimmy is.

 

Right, I remember he doesn't call the police and stays trapped for hours when he takes out the trash. I don't remember what season that is.

Edit: It's not the same mall that he's working at where he may run into the old ladies that he did the shoe scam on, right?

 

No, it's in Omaha. Might be same real life location though.

 

No, the Cinnabon scenes all take place in Omaha, whereas the mall with the old ladies was in Albuquerque.

 

They actually filmed the Cinnabon scenes and the old lady mall walkers in different malls (Cottonwood Mall and Coronado Mall, both in Albuquerque).

 

Well la-dee-da. Look at fancy Albuquerque with their two malls that haven't yet closed down.

 

And I heard or read somewhere that the Cinnabon location is in the town where Kim is from.

Actually, I think that was in here, possibly from @solojones

 

I beleive they're both Omaha. But she's definitely from Nebraska, so either way she's a short drive away. Unless something happened to her.

 

Maybe Kim represents Cinnabon and this is his small way of being close to her.
I hope in the series finale Saul gets to open the laser tag place that he always wanted.
