So, what is the biggest typo in the EU? Or am I being absurd?

I didn't notice that one. Where is that?

I think that they actually mispelled Skywalker once, but I can't remember exactly or in which book so don't quote me.

Can we count the entire SW timeline in S² as one typo?

This isnt really a typo, but in one of the YJK books, Anakin Solo is refered to as Anakin Skywalker.

True, the Kyp typo in DJ certainly is a typo, but I don't think it's that big a deal. I mean, the name seems to have the y pronuced as an i anyways, which is what tends to happen when y is used as a vowel. on the HIMS thread, I just quoted a typo from the second edition of the Star Wars Roleplaying game. It's not a big typo, but it seems a bit bigger than using Kip instead of Kyp. The typo I'm refeter to appears on page 117, though I'll have to start on 116.

Hyperdrives propel starships into an alternate dimension known at hyperspace, where it's possible to travel at many times the speed of light.

Ok, I put it in bold face to make it more obvious. And no, I'm not making this up. My copy actually says "known at hyperspace" instead of "known as hyperspace". Like I said, it's not that big a typo. But saying Kip when you mean to say Kyp just doesn't seem to be as bad as using a word that sounds different than the word you meant to use.

The biggest typo would probably have to be if someone were to use a word that made absoulutely no sense at all in the sentence. Example:

Luke would Han wanted to get going as soon as possible.

Saying "Luke knew" would make more sense in that sentence than saying "Luke would".

Another possibility would be to have a part of an important sentence cut out and then appear latter in the paragraph, throwing off the whole paragraph.

I think I'd have to go with BFTwi'lek- an ENTIRE NOVEL when a characters name was consistently misspelled.

Or, as someone mentioned, BHW trilogy. I mean, I don't really care- all books have spelling mistakes, I don't even care if there are HEAPS of them, but can you BELIEVE how many mistakes there were?? sweet fancy moses!

I'm surprised you didn't take that as another character or a clone or something and extrapolate his entire life story. "Everything is canon." Ahhhhhhhh!

I have to nominate, "There are 60 galactic standard seconds in one galactic standard hour" from the Star Wars Roleplaying game as the biggest typo in the EU.

According to that, time passes about 60 times quicker in the GFFA.

I nominate 'Falleen' spelt 'Fallen' on the SBS map... That's quite personal, though... :p

In one of the Zahn trilogy, maybe Heir to the Empire there is a brief paragraph where both Luke's and Mara's names were not capitalized.

One that was more noticable was in Isard's Revenge, where Rukh was spelled Ruhk.

Oh and all those instances of "eight kilometers" that should have an "een" after the "eight"

The NJO maps have several misspellings:

    Muunilist
    Faleen
    Borleais

Someone isn't doing a very good editing job, methinks.

I think the most obvious and biggest mis-spelling in the books has to be: Jacen.

I mean, come one everybody, it's supposed to be spelled, J-A-S-O-N.

    Sheesh.

    :D
