Binary Sunset Scene

In SW:A new Hope Luke stands at the exact same
spot were Anakin stood before he went to rescue
his mother in ATOC.When I first saw that in
EP II.I was like (thats were luke stood).Let
me know your thoughts on this thanks..........

 

Yeah, that's why they say he's just like his father.

I like the suns there.

 

From the point where both of the Skywalker lads are staring out into the sunsets, they are both at the beginning of a journey:

Anakin's journey will lead him to the darkside, Luke's will lead him to Knighthood.

 

I thought this thread would be a petition to give Binary_Sunset a cameo in the AEs.


Anyway, yep. I like the AOTC-ANH connection.

Another thing I like about the binary sunset is that it's weird and sci-filike to have two suns, but it's presented to us in a way that doesn't estrange us from the world. It's just different enough from Earth to be interesting.

Always loved that scene. Especially complete with the soundtrack.

 

My question is why on earth Banthas have evolved all that fur. With two suns for Tatooine, you would think they would have less fur. Maybe they were introduced to the planet.

 

Hmmm. Maybe because I've only seen AOTC once, but I don't remember Anakin standing and looking at the binary sunset like Luke did.

In any event, that's one of my favorite moments of the entire OT, even as brief as it. I don't think the scene would have had the same kind of impact had they used the music John Williams originally wrote for it. It's really strange.

 

Spacehunter, he was looking at it before going off on the swoop to search for his mother.

 

I remember him getting the swoop and leaving to find her, but I just don't remember him looking at the sunset. Oh well.
