Birthday Party Request - May 21 - Cheektowaga

Hi folks,

We've received a request to appear at the birthday party of a 5 year old boy in Cheektowaga on May 21. As this is an early request, I haven't locked in the finer details, but I would imagine that it would be an afternoon appearance, and we'll probably need between 3-6 characters.

Please chime in if you think you might be available.

 

Not available. I'll be elsewhere as "Robert E. Lee"...a paying gig!

 

Got some more details. The party is at 3pm, and will host about 10 kids, ages 4-10. They're specifically requesting Vader, Stormtrooper, Kylo, Porkins, Chewie and Fett. I'm sure we can substitute Fett for another Mando if need be.

 

I'm available but not even close to any of those characters.

 

Actually, information like this is helpful. I'd hate to waste my time going to an event only to disappoint the attendees.

 

We do none of those characters.

 

They may be requesting certain characters, but I'm sure that any appearance would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you are available to appear as any of your characters.

I don't have my May schedule yet so I can't say...

I will check my schedule and/or with this much notice I should be able to put in a request to make sure I'm not working so I can make it and we don't have to cancel yet again another birthday due to nobody being available.

 

From my perspective, I question having these "birthday parties" in the mix, as it appears they only want the star characters. This puts undue pressure on said star characters to be there and is somewhat diminishing to the rest of us sluggos. I understand it, and as a grandparent with SW fan grand kids am fuly cognizant of the lack off Interest in the more mundane characters. Perhaps the answer, if the North Ridge wants to continue to offer this service, is to fund two or three star character costumes that can be donned by any of the members available to provide such entertainment. Let's face it... every kid wants to see Darth Vader, Chewbacca and now that TFA is in play, Kylo Ren. The others? Not so much. That's only natural.

 

Possibly something to discuss at the next meeting?

 

It's definitely something that should be discussed, especially now that I've had to cancel 2 of the parties that we've gotten requests for.

 

I can't commit this far ahead because I don't know if I'll be back at work or not.
