I found the idea that the dresses were specifically designed to allow the girls to fight if necessary humorous
It was intended for that, in part. I try to put in those little details - don't always succeed, but I try. It was something I started with Wedge's comment to Cracken about the wedding party carrying blasters normally, and I felt I had to refer back to it.

As did Iella's asking for a drink half an hour before her wedding
That just popped into my head and I thought it fit.

And try not to blow anything up, okay?

Hopefully, she?d planted a few seeds in his mind. Given time and the right motivation ? say, a couple of fiery Corellian women more than willing to put him in his place ? he?d snap out of it.

Was what I did about justice? No. It was about revenge. But did those people deserve to die for what they did? I think so. Most people would probably agree. My parents weren?t their only victims. So, in a way, was it justice? Maybe. Not that I saw it that way at the time. Justice never crossed my mind.
I don't think this is weird or out of place...seems natural that this kind of thing might come up. I dunno, I like it.

Everyone would be pretty mad at me if I went for a normal tuxedo, wouldn?t they?? Wedge asked with a sigh, staring at himself in the mirror. He made a face at the dress uniform.
My brother-in-law didn't wear his uniform to his wedding. His poor mother nearly died.

?You have got to talk to him!? she exclaimed. ?He won?t talk to me, except to apologize, and half the time he just sits in Valin?s room, staring at the crib. And when Corran comes near him, Valin just cries!? Mirax and Corran?s son Valin was only a few months old.
Sniff. Look at me, feeling bad for Corran.
