Very well written indeed.

I liked how the story changes from humerous to serious.

The reason behind the war reminds me of the reason behind the war the little folk fought in Gulliver's travels.

I enjoyed the comments between Master and Apprentice and remembered the first part of The Phantom Menace in the Droid control centre of the Trade Federation.

The Governor stood.

?Welcome, Jedi,? he said. ?I am Governor Jendar. This is Senator Nel. We welcome you to Jink?ss.?

?Thank you,? Qui-Gon said. ?We are pleased to be here. I am Qui-Gon Jinn. This is my Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi.?

The Governor looked startled. ?Ah. I was under the impression he was your slave.?

Qui-Gon shook his head. ?The Jedi do not have slaves. But we thought it best if he poises as my slave, so that nothing would happen to him.?

The Governor nodded. ?That is a wise plan.?

?You contacted the Jedi to ask for protection. Do you suspect an attack?? Qui-Gon asked.

The Governor and Senator exchanged a glance.

?It is always a possibility,? Senator Nel said. ?But we were hoping that with the Jedi, Montesser would be more willing to deal honestly with us.?

Qui-Gon nodded. ?I see,? he said.

?We will be leaving in two days,? the Senator added.

?We will be ready,? Qui-Gon said.

?I will have Ihing show you to your quarters,? Governor Jendar said.

He pressed a buzzer on his desk. Moments later, Ihing returned.

?My lord?? he said.

?Take our guest to their rooms,? the governor ordered. ?And see that all their needs are attended to.?

?Yes, Master.? Ihing bowed respectfully.

Obi-Wan repressed a shiver. There was something about Ihing that he didn?t like. Darkness surrounded him.
Stop it, he told himself. You?re just being silly. He bowed with his Master and turned to follow Ihing. Ihing led them to a set of lavish rooms. He bowed and left them. Obi-Wan sank down on one of the couches.

?Hey, this isn?t so bad Master,? he said. ?It?s actually comfortable to sit on. Not like that old dumpy thing we have in our quarters.?

?Padawan,? Qui-Gon began. He was interrupted by a knock at the door. He motioned for Obi-Wan to stand up, then opened the door. A young slave had brought them dinner. Qui-Gon thanked the girl, then dismissed her. Obi-Wan was already looking over the food.

?Hmm. They gave us spaghetti with nerf meat, Master. Yummy.?

?Go ahead and dig in, Padawan. I?m not hungry at the moment.?

As Obi-Wan began stuffing his face, Qui-Gon began to meditate.

*grabs daitou and joins in the attack. After a half hour, she looks at Xanatos.*

Think this is enough? I have a feeling that it's not!

Always remember that no story is nonestop action, and that setups are just as important! That was still good, and you got the necessary information out. Besides setups lead to the good stuff, right?

Qui-Gon looked up from the book he was reading. His Padawan had been bored all day. On one hand, Qui-Gon considered letting him go to get him out of his hair. On the other hand, he didn?t want anything to happen to Obi-Wan. The streets were dangerous, especially for those who had no rights, like slaves. Still...if all precautions were taken...

?All right, you can go,? Qui-Gon said.

?YES!? Obi-Wan exclaimed.

?But,? Qui-Gon added, ?I want you to check in every twenty minutes. And I want you to stay away from the slave markets. Promise??

?Yes, Master. I promise,? Obi-Wan said, grinning. He grabbed a comlink and gave Qui-Gon a quick hug before skipping out the door.

I think I just further enraged DRL! Nothing has been going right for me the last few days, and I'll be losing the net tomorrow!

I will be back, just don't know when. In the mean time, I'll try to keep up at the library, or something. Or I'll have a marathon reading session!

In any case, this is going very well, and I can't wait to see what kind of trouble Obi ends up in!
