Having just completed Blade Squadron: JAkku, I was wondering if anyone out there thinks that Blade Squadron should get their own Star Wars novel? I always loved the X-Wing series of novels, but I suppose they will be part of the Legends collection now. So why not create a novel around Blade Squadron...or at least a comic book series?

No. Not at all. The characters are uni-dimensional.

I don't know where a novel would fit in. B-wings are introduced not long before Endor. The short stories cover the span from Endor to Jakku. The New Republic doesn't have any big military campaigns until it's nuked 30 years later.

The only way I could see to do it would be to include them in that hunt for the Pirate SSD hanging plot thread.

Be nice to get more of an idea about the entire squadron that went on to participate at Endor, Malastare, Kuat and Jakku, particularly callsigns in the later stages. I would love a back story for Fanty, who is he and what his species is.

Sure, why not? Plenty more stories you could tell with the Blades.

(Obligatory Note: this is not some veiled effort to tease any kind of future announcement. Any attempt to take it as such is misguided and wrong.)

I agree. They are making over the storyline and, just as in the Legends novels, the war is not truly over. There will be mopping up to do on various worlds who don't know that the Empire is truly gone (which we all know is not exactly true). The original X-Wing novels were all about that effort and, while I wouldn't want to see the Blade Squadron in novels that copied that story track, I think it can be done.

Yes, if it were to be written by an actual author who could make it interesting and not a childrens/young adult style. New EU could really use an ongoing Starfighter novel series like X-Wing in the old EU

I wholeheartedly agree. I want something with teeth, not a watered down version of battle you might see in a children's/young adult novel.
