I know of a few blaster rifle types... but my question is, what are the others? There can't be just three types of blaster rifles...

    BlasTech EE-3 blaster rifle
    BlasTech E-11 blaster rifle
    BlasTech T-21 light repeating blaster

those are the rifles that I know the official designations of... does anyone know of any others? (Jello, Mitth, this should be cake for you)

    For example:
the blaster rifles of the clonetroopers in AOTC
the blasters of the ARC troopers in the Clone Wars comics
    Bossk's blaster
    Zam's sniper rifle

pistols are welcome too; i know only three of those:
BlasTech DL-44 (being the most famous)
    Merr-Sonn "Power" 5
    BlasTech DH-17

    www.partsofsw.com

That should answer most of your questions. There are both official and unofficial names for just about every Blaster that appeared in and around SW.

And the [new & Old] Essential guide to weapons and Techonolgy says that there are many other weapons that are less significant and/or knocks of the famous one.

that is a very good link, but it only focuses on weapons from the movies. I am more curious about the weapons in the EU; ARC trooper blasters, and the like. Thank you for the link, though :)

Is there a new Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology? I still have the old one.

If you're into video games, Knights of the Old Republic (and KOTOR II) may be a good place to look. I don't know if there's any official listing of all the weapons in the game, but you do get a number of different blaster types, both pistol and rifle.

Though I must admit most of them just come down to "Mandalorian Ripper" or something like that. Not exactly techincal names, I guess, but it's a start.

The New Essential Guide to Weapons & Technology was published last year (around September/October, I believe).

The clonetroopers have DC-15s and the Republic Commandos DC-17s, IIRC.

Does anyone remember seeing or hearing of the
    TIE Crawler??
Taking a TIE and making it a tank.

I came up with something too, the TIE walker!

Armor: The whole thing now has atmospheric
    armor for planet-hopping capability.

Engines: 2 or 4 from the X-Wing. The panels
are now armor which fold nicely and also
    protect the occupant on land.

Legs: Specially manufactured but similar to
those from the AT-ST. They attach to a unit
grafted to the back of the tie fighter pod.
This unit contains the mech's gyroscope. They
look beefier because of atmospheric armor, and
are also optimized to fold neatly.

I drew the picture in paint if anybody wants a
look. A technical drawing no embellishment. No
this does not exist in EU, only the TIE Crawler.
