part of me really wants that horse head pillow.

the other part realizes it'd be an awkward conversation piece at best.

"yep, i love that scene where the horse head's bleeding all over him. i love blood. horse blood."

almost as awkward as the time I ran into uncle ben and he asked me why I don't call anymore. cause you don't PAY me, dude.

Oakley now makes a pair of sunglasses with an mp3 player in it.

Pointless geek trivia: Oakley originally designed this as a custom application for Lance Armstrong during the last Tour De France. It's perfect for that, he gets sunglasses and his music and the weight and aerodynamics are optimum.

Anyway, a picture of him wearing them showed up on CNN, and Oakley was flooded with requests to make the device public, so evidently they did. Why they decided to name it "Thump" is beyond me.

combining the technology of sunglasses and MP3 players seems like the most pointless endeavor imaginable.

second only to producing a six-hour star wars fan film.

    i keed! i keed.

I agree that for the average Joe, it does seem kinda silly. My point was for the niché application of a Tour de France rider, it makes sense.

When I first saw it, I thought that I absolutely must have a pair. Then I thought about how if I wanted to listen to music, I'd have to put the glasses on. And with only 128/256MB of storage...doesn't really compare to a 40GB iPod.

Stupid FanForce....I think you can see the picture, but can't see the text when you click (or paste) that link. So here's the story:

    Biologists Hunt Destructive 'Frankenfish'
    [image=http://cdn-channels.netscape.com/cp/news/top/i/snakehead1.jpg]

CHICAGO (AP) - Biologists plan to use large nets and traps this week in Chicago's Burnham Harbor to search for the northern snakehead - a type of fish known for its voracious appetite and ability to wreak havoc on freshwater ecosystems.

Experts from Chicago's Field Museum and the Army Corps of Engineers were to begin searching for the unwanted snakehead Friday, but mechanical difficulties halted the survey's start.

An angler caught the 18-inch fish several days ago, packed it in ice and posted a picture of it on the Internet. State biologists confirmed Thursday that the fish was a northern snakehead.

Scientists describe the northern snakehead as a ``Frankenfish'' for its ability to survive in oxygen-depleted water, move from pond to pond and eat other fish.

The Frankenfish is a native of China, Korea and Russia and can grow to more than three feet in length. It has large teeth and an appetite for other fish, and biologists fear the northern snakehead, usually imported for food or aquariums, could destroy native fish.

Boat problems stalled Friday's plans to electrically shock the harbor near Lake Michigan, and as a result, Field Museum fish biologist Philip Willink said he was only able to interview fishermen Friday who use the harbor.

Up to three nets are scheduled to be installed Monday in the harbor so biologists can catch and examine the fish. Willink said about six traps that will use squid as bait also will be placed in the harbor.

    For Boston!
    For Boston!
    We sing our proud refrain

    For Boston!
    For Boston!
    'tis wisdom's earthly fame

For here are all one and our hearts are true
And the towers on the heights reach the heavens own blue.

    For Boston!
    For Boston!
    'til the echoes ring agin!

    For Boston!
    For Boston!
    Thy glory is our own

    For Boston!
    For Boston!
'tis here that truth is known

And ever with a right shall our heirs be found
'til time shall be no more and thy work is crowned

    For Boston!
    For Boston!
    Thy glory is our own!
