I got Blazing Angels yesterday and played it nonstop. FUN flight simulator game. Very easy to pick up and play. It's like better graphics version of "Secret Weapons over Normanday". But, dropping bombs in the game is hard, and not very fun at all. I wish a new SW "Rouge Squadron" type game would come out using these controls.

I may try picking it up at some point. I am a sucker for any sort of flying game.

I tried the 360 demo and really didn't like it. The gameplay was too simple and the screen tearing was terrible

I like the 3D space for the battles. Also the fact you don't hear a "You are leaving the battle" thing come on the screen.

I'm kind of torn between getting this or Crimson Skies. Which should I go with?

I like fun flight-sim games that focus more on fun than difficulty (I prefer Star Fox 64 over every Rogue Squadron game). I also don't have Xbox Live.

So, which is the better game if I was looking for a fun, mildly difficult single player mode?

Hmm. I think Crimson Skies has a funner storyline. It takes place in a very sci fi ish 1950's with a good storyline.

This game is more serious, but it does have some fun characters in it.

So...I should go with Crimson Skies?

    Crimson Skies, no question.

The screenshots for Blazing Angels look so much sweeter, though.

Why don't you read some reviews for the two games and compare them?

Well, I already did that and the reviews for Crimson Skies are all pretty consistent in their outstanding ratings, whereas Blazing Angels seems to have more mixed reception.

The thing is, some reviews say that Blazing is pretty easy, which is cool for me, since I want a kind of relaxing game. But at the same time, I don't want a stupid game.

Crimson's reviews indicate that it's pretty great all around, but sometimes I'd come upon a review or two that would complain about certain levels being very hard.

In that case (without having played any of them, mind you), it looks from what you just wrote there like Blazing Angels is more up your alley. But as you said, you don't want it to be overly easy to the point where it's stupid either, so it's a bit risky I guess. I think the best way for you to find out would be to simply try it out at a local games store. They shouldn't have a problem with letting you testing it, especially if you explain what you're looking for as thoroughly as you did here.

Having played both, I'd say Blazing is the harder game. If you want a real easy flying game, get Secret Weapons over Normandy.
