O.k. I downloaded Blender and printed out some tutorials, now I find out someone at my job has a 3D program called Corel 3D. He said he would give it to me as he does not need it, have you guys heard of this software? which one should I learn and use?

Also I have never done any 3d programs except for 3d text in After Effects, how hard is the learning curve you think? as I look at the Blender screen and feel intimidated.

Thanks for helping a Newbie out

well from what ive seen and done so far on blender, it has a steep learning curve but is an incredible suite once you get to know how to use it. Its prob gonna take you awhile to get used to blender but be patient and youll get incredible results.

    i know nothing about corel

    BLENDER!

Unless by Corel 3D he means Bryce which is owned by Corel. Bryce seems to be a great package.

    If it's Bryce, take it!

If it's not (Corel Dream 3D) run away fast!

    That's exactly what I'm saying.

Bryce = Good. Lots of good SW stuff out there for Bryce.

    Corel Dream 3D = Ugh!

Blender = Good, free, but hard to learn for some.
