ON ***Blockbuster Video DVD release / Y.J.N. Charity Event***

Y.J.N. Members and Friends,

On Tuesday, October 16th, 2001, the DVD version of Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace will be released. This date, October 16th, will also be our next charity fund raising event.
I've approached the manger of Blockbuster Video, in regards to Y.J.N. helping Blockbuster promote the sale of the DVD on that day. The Manager, Kathy, has given us the green light to entertain her patrons during that day. In exchange for our help in promoting the DVD sale, Blockbuster is allowing us a table inside the store for a Women's Place donation box, and is also allowing us to sell our club t-shirts for charity. Blockbuster will also be promoting the event by distributing flyers as well as the possibility of placing an advertisement in the local newspaper, the St. Catharines Standard.
This is a costumed event!!!! Blockbuster will be promoting it as such. I'm expecting parents and children will want to take pictures throughout the day so make sure your costumes have been cleaned since the parades.
Since this event is on a school day, I'm not expecting our younger members to be involved till school is out for the day. I on the other hand, I will be there ALL day. If anyone else can find the time to join me prior to 4:00pm, please do so.
This Thursday evening I'll be speaking to Kathy again to finalize the event. If you have any suggestions or comments Kathy should be made aware of, please bring them to my attention prior to Thursday evening.

What a good event. I heard the number raised was $162.81, but I could be wrong. Knowing me, I probably am. It was a fun time also, although, running around Blockbuster like a chicken with it's head cut off looking for my bank card. The jokes on them though, it has no money on it. Anyway, I'd like to say congrats to Andrew, the 13 year old that had more facial hair than Chris!

 

All I can say at the moment is man you are a strange group aren't you.

 

lol I had a great time too. Right now I am watching the DVD and looking at the exclusive Episode 2 content and I must say it is amazing! I will be adding the photos and a report on the website soon.
