We didn't have one, and I felt we needed one. Mainly as some FanForces are reported early shelf releases-- it may be a good idea for anyone who sees a store put these out early to post it here (I just cannot wait!).

Of course, this thread can be used to praise or complain about the changes (again) to our favorite movies. Personally, the "nooooo," blinking ewoks or a CGI ep 1 Yoda seem pretty cool; and hardly an afront to my childhood. Then I read that the BluRay will have 360 views of the studio models! That's like nerd porn.

So. If you see them on the shelves before Friday, let us know. If you hate Jabba's big gate-- sound off here.

OH: I don't own stock in Sony, but the PS3 is the best BluRay around. Add to that the fact that it plays games, had a recent price cut, and has a hard drive for storing movies, media, and music-- it wouldn't be a bad buy if you can afford it (and if you have an HDTV).

Great idea for a thread. I'm not thrilled with all the changes in the movies (thumbs up for CGI Yoda, thumbs down for "Nooooooo") I'm really excited about all the extras (501st documentary) and deleted scenes (Han's cantina squeeze!, Fixer and Cami!).

Another little known fact: The PS3 is actually the only Blu-Ray player that is designed to 100% work with every Blu-Ray on the market. There are some technical reasons for this, but suffice it to say, if you can part with the money it's your best bet.

As fare as the movies go, I'm stoked. I'm tight for cash this month, but yeah. When I have the money, they will be mine.

The PS3 does indeed rawk. It is the Astromech of home media.

Anyone know if this is out in stores today? Target is saying the first 50 people who buy the complete set will get a lithograph (probably a dinky one), but are they open at midnight tonight?

    What about Wal Mart?

I Exist! I promise, I just was in charge of a major fundraser for Down Syndrome this weekend that kept me away (and, I am just not a fan of Bridge-A0Geddon). I don't post too much personal info, but if you saw the nes to the paper-- you can see my event.

Oh My Gosh! Anyone own this yet? I went to the Hurstborn Wal Mart at midnight and MADE the dude go get the posters of Boba Fett riding a lizard (I think a dayctal from Ep 3). I haven't even gotten to the movies, the Model archive disk has been too much fun for me! And the old school making of's-- one narated by Billy Dee!

    Ahhhh. Childhood memories.

This is so cool. And, the changes do not bother me at all. Really.

Oh my gosh... This is going to "Force Push" me into purchasing a Play Station III. Getting it home is one thing, getting it plugged in will be another all together. I'm told that my old Play Station games won't play in the III. That means I'll have to find some way of hooking both of them up. I don't know if I have enough outlets to do that with. ARRRRRRGGGGH! Good ting it be squawk like a pirate day! I have no idea what I'm doing! Shiver me timbers!! Someones going to walk the plank afore this day is gone! :-B

zannah, if you decide to get one, or just get a blu-ray player, let me know, i can hook up the equipment if you need it. You may not need to get a PS3. any blu-ray player would work. and yes, your ps1 games will not work on the ps3. however, there are tons of really cool games out on ps3.

With work (and all the new sitcoms this week) I haven?t had a chance to delve too deep into the Blu-Rays. I have watched the 501st documentary ?Star Warriors? (the Belgians are a hoot), the original ?Making of Star Wars? (see George and all the stars in their youth, marvel at the old school special effects, hide your eyes at the hideous 70?s fashions) and ?Star Wars Spoofs? (a little bit of everything, including but not limited to Chad Vader, The Simpsons, Clerks, Buffy, That 70's Show, The Colbert Show, Eddie Izzard and Donny and Marie!).

Hope to get into the deleted scenes this weekend.

For anyone who hasn't bought it yet, I know WalMart is selling the box set for $80. And if you are looking to buy a PS3, look for it second hand at places like GameStop. Sure, it's a bit of a gamble; if something happens to the machine you won't have the manufacturer's warranty which makes some people nervous. However, a reputable second hand dealer like GameStop tests all their machines and connections to make sure they work. And you'll save a few bucks to buy more Star Wars stuff. Always a plus there! :D
