OK, my DragonCon suitcase is at 43 pounds and I have a carry-on bag and a backpack. Looks like I'll make it without paying the extra toll for a second bag. Or having to wear the costume boots on the plane to save weight. And I realized that my acryllic rod fits perfectly into my RandomSabers saber! It took me this long to figure that out? doh! When I got the rod the guy apologized because it was short, but I'm short, it's long enough and it fits in my suitcase. Now I'll have something to wave for the parade. And I'll have the balloons.

I have all kinds of things that need to be written, but the last few months have been costume season and I've just been keeping up with my diary. I didn't win anything for my Worldcon Masquerade costume (Sea Goddess Rising - Miss Global Warming 2099) but it feels sooooooo good to get that off my to-do list and I got a satisfying laugh from the audience when they read the sash and the music switched to Hawaii-5-0. But after this one, back to writing.

 

All right... so I've been hanging out in the YJCC way too much...

 

Me too, I think it's starting to rot my brain.

 

YJCC sends me into convulsions. I can no longer read stories about Katerina Witt because the letters ITT make me have an attack.

I've been looking after a puppy from 7am until 9pm for the last week and most of the day for the week before that, looking after a puppy is tiring and I've not been able to spend much time on here.

I had a couple of hectic weeks at work and at home, with a happy interlude for a weekend in Middle Earth... And I took pictures!

I have to work in 45 minutes, and I really don't want to. I spent the weekend with this screaming 6-year-old and I don't feel like putting up with her anymore. Her parents, my aunt and uncle, let her get away with anything and buy her everything. I don't. I'm not mean, but I'm firm and expect her to behave nicely. She can be a little terror. If she wasn't my cousin, I would've quit ages ago.

Only two more weeks. Then we're all back in school, and I can get a real job instead of babysitting.

 

Thanks, DBS! Ugh, babysitting... I wouldn't mind babysitting actual babies, but elder kids... Mine already gave me enough gray hair!

 

Things are really messed up here. I have to move in a month and I'm still waiting on job applications, I have things to apply for that I might not need, I might need to find somewhere to stay if I get a job but that depends on where I get the job and I don't know if I've even got an interview yet. All I know for certain is that I'm alive and our puppy is adorable when he's behaving and he's a nightmare when he's not.

 

Anyone got an idea of what's happened to the banner?
