Well, it's me jumping on a tree branch (hence the weird shadows on my body) that I roto-masked out. What do ya think? How real, what else would be nice? Just remember, it's a test version.

I love the way the shot looks! Excellent compositing and framing. I dont know where this is supposed to be, but the back area looks a tad dull. Again, I don't know the setting, so it's most likely inteded to be that way.

The setting is supposed to be a Coruscant-ish cityscape (hence the balcony), but since it's in his test stage, I hadn't done the background yet.. thanks for the positive feedback by the way...

HA HA HA HA HA, YES!!!!!! Explosions rule. Now, did you bluescreen the explosion, or the actor? And what did you rotomask out. I don't quite understand.

Sorry I wasn't very clear on that..

The explosion is just screened in AE using footage from my PyroMania Pro CD. The actor (me) was completely rotomasked frame-by-frame. The original footage was me jumping off of a stool and catching a tree branch in my front yard. Then I rotomasked me and touched up the animation by making me fall more and jump farther. I originally jumped straight across. So yeah, I hope that answers your questions. There really wasn't any bluescreening involved.

    You rang, Nerddogs? :D

Now, I'm obviously biased seeing as I work with Ben as well as him being a friend, but I like this test very much. Of course, it's only a beta version, the CG for the test has yet to be finished, et al, but....that's for the future.

I forget where it comes from... but it's under Effects -> Final Effects -> FE Rain.. I doubt that can tell you anything, but that's what it's called.

By the way all, I'm working on a newer version using some of the feedback here as well as some new ideas.

It should be up in a day or so if all goes well...

hey woah is that cool. that is way cool..

    I have a question though...

the only thing in that clip.. that is real is the actor right?

so you jumped from a stool to a tree.. then you edited out the background, tree stool..

what I dont get is how you made it so it looked like you jumped farther and down more.. like you said..

Well.. after I roto-masked myself I rendered it in a targa sequence with the alpha channel. Then I re-imported it into AE and key framed it and rotated it, etc as needed to make it look right...
