    Hi,
I Know this has been asked many times before, but I think the topic has long gone.
I remember once seeing a tutorial that showed how to oick out the actors from normal footage without the need for a bluescreen.

Can anybody point me to a tutorial on this?

I think its called difference masking / keying.

    Many Thanks

I think it's called Delta Masking. I remember seeing a tutorial somewhere, but don't remember. I would like to see this to.

EDIT: Woah, same thing at the same time.

We used yellow, and white screening on ADOTF. ;)
I must say yellow worked flawlessly!

    Yup,
Right click you video on the timeline, select Overlay Mode... and set the type to Difference. This will get you started anyway. You'll need to adjust the Blend setting to see the effect.

You will use this to create a mask video between your action and background. Then you can output the mask to a separate file to be used in compositing in a new background.

I haven't used this feature yet myself. Needs to be toyed for a while to really make use of it.

    Have fun.

Never ceases to amaze me man!
    Nice tutorial!!!
    I'm jealous [face_mischief]
Trivia : The reason why I also called it Delta Keying was because it's quite similar to current video compression where only the differences between the images are stored (They're simply called Delta images).
Again, thanks goes out to a former TFN poster Nik who mentioned the theory of it on these boards in the first place...he was the inspiration this extreme form of garbage matting! ;)
