Board Announcement: New Header Navigation Layout

It is a really great idea and I love having the fanfiction archive thread right at the top where I can get at it...but at the same time do think it is too crowded

The one at the fanfiction certainly is. There is just too much happening, maybe I just need to get used to it...

I have to agree. The red bar at the top is too huge now. Is there anyway of maybe condensing just a little, so it doesn't take up quite as much room? If not, oh well, we'll get used to it.

The forums announcement system works seems like a great idea though...

 

You know what...? I just realised that this could very well be the end of "upping" as we know it!

The bottem would be better choicc than the top.Plus you have to zoom down to it anyway, so you can click the post button.

 

But the "Post New Topic" button is at the top.

This way, in looking around, trying to find it in the mess of links, they'll be drawn to threads they want. They won't be able to resist.

 

I still dont really understand upping as it is! ? So why would it end?
I dont really want to, i think!

Not bad, not bad at all. 'Course, good old fashion lurking does the job too, but I guess not all newbies have my patience (or they have a life, unlike me who can just spend hours lurking to find the right thread )

I think those who complain about it not being noticable do have a point, but all in all, it's certainly an improvement. Well done!

RMCOY - I don't think that we can do that. We can certainly add links to the board row that begins with your login name, but I don't think we can add new rows. That being said, I do have an idea that might be able to trick the boards, but I haven't had the time to code it and test it. It is on my agenda for tomorrow night.

Crimson - It'll still be needed so that they don't fall prey to prunning, but yes, no longer do they have to be upped several times a day in some forums.

Darth_Kevin - I'll fix that when I get the chance.

 

I'd like a link back to the home page please becuase I nearly alwasy come to this site via an active topic notification and I like to read the posts before I go to the main page to see what news is new!

Hey harjap, just click the links at the bottme of the screen. It should be the second one in form the left.That should take you back to the start up window.It is even at the top of the screen, but I suggest using the bottem button. Just so you can resist Helmets attemp to ensnare you with the Headers!

Most of the forums already have a link to the relevant section of TFN. The only ones that I know of that do not are JCC, CT and Music.

Some forums have never had a link at the top to it. If they did before, they still will, but take here in communcations, this forum has never had a link to TF.N at the top of the page, we have the link to Jedicouncil.Net. The easiest is to use the news box, thing at the the bottom of the page.
