If there was an option in the user-profile screen to select where you are located in the world, would it be possible to have post times, last activity times, etc... in your own local time, instead of the American Pacific Standard Time (PST)???

Because it would require a board coding change, it's not possible.

I think that would needed to be added by IGN.

I'll blame IGN again. Why? Because they're the ones who would have to update the system.

Is the entire board in PST? I'm in PST, so I never noticed.

but not convenient for me, since i'm in the republic of korea.

it looks to me like the only person who ever makes changes to the snowboards code is zerosleep. i wonder if he ever attemped somthing like this.

    Yeah, I'm in California too.

Lucky for me, otherwise I'd be confused all the time.

well, grimby, I think you are 20 or 22 hours ahead of me. I remember when my former boss was in Korea, and trying to coordinate time zones so his wife could talk to him was a real bugger. :D

Grimby, I live in Singapore, which is one hour behind Korean time. I don't really have a problem with JC time - it's just a matter of subtracting a set number of hours all the time. One gets used to it after a while.

Not entirely accurate. A new profile system was integrated over at IGN a few months ago, the smilies were updated by IGN, and the "Watch This Topic" and "Private Message User" links were added on each post, again by IGN - without Zerosleep.

I guess they mean it's zerosleep outside of IGN upgrades.

I got used to this PST. I just add two hours into the clock of the board time and then I'll know what time it is where I'm at.

I have a watch, therefore have little use for an accurate JC time. I use only to see if time has passed since a last post in a thread. So, you could put us on Zimbabwae time if you want.

Did I spell Zimbabwae at all right?

that's new to me xie. heh, the other day i was wondering if i had gone three whole years without noticing those send private message links. but the smileys? i'm sure we've been using the same ones for three years now. were they recently enhanced or something?

the time thing really doesn't bother me though. in fact, it helps me figure out what time it is in the states most of the time. the ability to change the time to mountain would be nice though.....

    hmmmm.....

hawaii is -10hrs zulu time (or gmt for the non-military types) and korea is +9hrs. that would make us 19 hours apart, i think.

The same thing happened to me, I never realized till I read someone's complaint about it.

There's no way this'll ever happen. Its been suggested many times but there was never enough to reason to implement it.

If it presents a huge problem though, you could always move to the West Coast! :)
