    Good news

Will there be a palace shaped like the Cinderella Castle in the movie? :)

It's going to be quite different without the 20th Century Fox/Lucasfilm intro and the slight pause before the main theme begins. To me, the 20th Century Fox theme is PART of Star Wars..

LFL isn't responsible for the intro that I'm talking about. The distributor is, Disney, just as 20th Century Fox was.

I would love to hear some new John Williams music in place of the Fox fanfare. I think no Disney logo is a wise move, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

This new confirmation is not at all surprising, but it is a confirmation. And the reason explained above is exactly why it was not a foregone conclusion. Most have assumed there wouldn't have been a Disney logo, but the situation is not identical to the Marvel situation.

Also, everyone play nice. That's enough sniping and implying that other posters are dumb or gullible.

I never expected the Disney logo anyway.

My guess is that there will be a new, slightly longer Lucasfilm intro.

Disney is simply the distributor. TFA is still a Lucasfilm production.

a while back, someone posted on this board their thoughts on why TFA would not have a Disney Logo.

The conclusion they came to was that the Disney Logo only appears on movies that come out of Disney's Movie Studios division (not sure what the official name is). While Disney owns Lucasfilm, and are obviously involved to a degree, their Movie division is not involved in TFA, thus no logo.

At least, that's how I understood it.

One things for certain, it will be odd not to have the old 20th Century Fox fanfare anymore.

    Oh well.

ahhahah! YEah! I think for me it was the same...I was so used to it, and became a ritual---basically my pregame routine: ok get sit down, get ready, everybody shut up...awesomeness is about to start.

I need a replacement routine to recalibrate my anticipation for the start of the film!!! But that is a good back up idea! hahahaha

That first one was just a quick hatchet job of editing the end credits music finale of ESB for the purpose of the digital collection.

I suspect a better, all-new fanfare for Lucasfilm before TFA starts.

I sure hope so -- IMO that's the best ending of any of the soundtracks (and not by a little bit) and that edit just makes me sad. It's like hearing your favorite melody with every 4th note dropped out.

"The Force Awakens is produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Lucasfilm, and Abrams' Bad Robot Productions and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Force_Awakens

Again, this is not identical to the Marvel arrangement.

Which means that there's now a possibility, if there is no new fanfare, that some fans will begin being disappointed with the new Star Wars film before they've even seen the screen saying "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."
