I decided watch the Greedo scene on my SE VHS, but ended up watching a bit more, and I got to the new Jabba scene. Now, my question for you is, was Boba Fett originally in the Jabba scene back in 1977? Or was he digitally added to the film specifically for the scene in 1997?

He was digitally added into the 97 SE. As a character, he wasn't even introduced until the Holiday Special.

Thought so, I remember hearing somewhere that Boba was introduced in the Holiday special, but until I saw it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it. Just thought it would have been interesting if Fett was originally there is all.

    My 800th post. :)

In the wide screen version, he appears on screen twice. In the full screen version, you can only see him one time.

Huh, I thought the Boba action figure was out before the holiday special........as if he was always in the cut scene from 1977. I could be wrong though.

No Boba appeared in the Holiday Special first.
If you have the AOTC DVD, it says so in one of the Web Docs.

I checked.......Fett was a 1979 figure. After the Holiday Special, but before ESB.

I'd love to see the completely raw footage of that scene and see exactly which actors were on set.

The mail-away 1979 Boba Fett action figure came with a card that mentioned the holiday special.

Just a little bit from a vintage Star Wars collector ;)

They digitally added Boba Fett to that Jabba sequence. He wasn't originally there when it was first filmed.

There was no Jabba scene in the original in 1977.

I'm aware of that, if you'll read my words, I said new Jabba scene, I know it was filmed in 1977 but never enhanced and added until 1997.

I could be wrong but I think Boba Fett and Jabba are the only ones who were added to the scene in '97.

My question is, why is Bib Fortuna not there? If they were going to add anyone I think he would of been the more logical one than Boba. It's not that it didn't make sense to have Boba, but it would make more sense to have added Bib.

    I have two. :)

My original one(from when I was little) is beat pretty bad, but the newly purchased one is mint.

I only started getting into re-buying all of the vintage stuff in January. I still got a ways to go...

This footage is out there. I saw it many years ago on a making of star wars video. However, I don't think it was Star Wars to Jedi. A different one I think.

I believe it is on T'Bones site. I've certainly seen it.

The actor playing Jabba has a Welsh or Irish (can't rember which) accent, pretty funny.

    ni-i-i-i-i-i-ice :D Cheers DB77!

Having probs with the Quicktime one, but the Mpeg's sound! Well, as sound as a cobbled together clip can be ;)

Can't help thinking of Jabba as a character from Father Ted now... "Father Jabba, will ye not have a cup of tea? Oh ye will!" :p
