Probably not, but it's not out of the question that the Bob "meme" reached his ears, as it spread beyond this site. I used to participate in a Tolkien messageboard that a number of folks at WETA actually read, and some ideas that derived from the messageboard made their way to Peter Jackson's desk, and were implemented (this was confirmed by cast and crew members). Information moves in mysterious, fluid ways these days.

 

or maybe Bob sells creatures, they look more like snakes, than Bob himself or maybe I'm wrong and they are younglings but why the cages???

I find it amazing that this poll has gotten so few 'Yes' votes, after seeing the character take up a significant portion of the TFA SDCC panel.

Well, I don't think he was a Jedi but the dude has a wickedly cool way of fighting.

Who else was excited to see him? I did manage to refrain from yelling "Bob!!" when he showed up.

 

Am I the only one who exclaimed "BOB!" when we saw him?

 

Was he called Bob before getting an official name? If so, perhaps the nickname inspired the filmmakers!

 

I certainly did a happy little dance in my seat and I think I might have given my boyfriend's arm a bruise from excited patting because I was so excited to see Bob.

That may be the case because we started calling him Bob long before he had an actual name.
